Welder - Kempton Park at FlySafair

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Development and manufacturing of various Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and access equipment;
• Develop prototypes and thereafter manufacture a full set of the prescribed project;
• Manufacturing of GSE in accordance with drawings and prototypes developed;
• Reading and understanding drawings prior to starting a project;
• Sourcing the materials to be used in the project;
• Measuring and cutting materials to specifications;
• Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together;
• Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the drawings;
• Report damages on machines and equipment;
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws;
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Trade qualified welder/ boiler maker;
• Must have experience in structural welding and manufacturing;
• Must have experience in Manufacturing environment;
• Ability to interpret drawings and manufacture accordingly;
• Willing to work in collaboration with Mechanical Engineering team;
• Experience in Product Development environment (preferred);
• Some Aviation experience will be advantageous.
