Our client, a well-established wholesale FMCG business, is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Wholesale FMCG Buyer to join their team. This role is ideal for a proactive buyer with strong negotiation skills, excellent commercial awareness, and a proven ability to source quality products while driving profitability and maintaining optimal stock levels.
Key Responsibilities
Source and procure FMCG products in line with business requirements and customer demand.
Negotiate competitive pricing, supplier agreements, rebates, and favourable trading terms.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to ensure consistent product availability.
Analyse sales trends, customer buying patterns, and market data to optimise product selection and profitability.
Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
Research market trends and identify new product opportunities to enhance the product offering.
Manage purchasing budgets and implement cost-effective procurement strategies.
Prepare purchasing reports and maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
Ensure suppliers meet quality, delivery, and service level expectations.
Work closely with sales, warehouse, and finance teams to support business objectives.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Buyer within the wholesale or FMCG industry.
Proven experience in supplier negotiations and procurement.
Strong understanding of inventory management and demand forecasting.
Excellent analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
Advanced negotiation and relationship management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Experience working with ERP or procurement systems will be advantageous.
Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field will be advantageous.
