    Workshop Manager

    Job Description

    • Are you passionate about ensuring the smooth operation of construction fleets and heavy machinery? Our client, a leading organisation in the construction industry, is looking for a dedicated Workshop Manager to uphold high standards of maintenance, safety, and efficiency, supporting their commitment to delivering reliable infrastructure projects across the Eastern Cape.

    Where You'll Make an Impact:

    • Manage the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring all fleet and yellow metal equipment are maintained and repaired efficiently.
    • Oversee preventative maintenance planning to reduce downtime and maximize equipment availability.
    • Supervise and motivate workshop staff and technicians, fostering a safety-conscious and collaborative work environment.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards across all workshop activities.
    • Control workshop costs, oversee parts inventory, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

    Duties may include:

    • Manage the day-to-day workshop activities to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services.
    • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules.
    • Supervise workshop personnel, providing guidance and support.
    • Monitor and control workshop budgets, procurement, and inventory.
    • Ensure adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations.

    Requirements:

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in fleet maintenance management within the construction sector.
    • Strong knowledge of fleet maintenance and yellow metal machinery.
    • Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and workshop administration.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Valid heavy equipment operator certification is preferred.

    Familiarity with the following:

    • Heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
    • Workshop management software.
    • Inventory control systems.
