YC: Maintenance Draftsman at UD Trucks

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Ensure that the 5S standard is adhered to before, during and after the shift
• Develop precise mechanical drawings for manufacturing, assembly, or construction.
• Create and modify mechanical drawings, schematics, and diagrams for various components, systems, and assemblies.
• Develop plans for mechanical parts, including details like dimensions, material specifications, and assembly instructions. 
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications. 
• Collaborate with engineers, Maintenance supervisor and Maintenance engineer and project managers to refine designs and produce accurate drawings. 
• Revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project specifications
• Prepare shop drawings for manufacturing and installation purposes.
• Ensure all drawings are accurately documented, dated, and version controlled. 
• Verify drawings comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines. 
• Maintain proper records of design changes and approvals for future reference.
• Ensure that designs are cost-effective and feasible for manufacturing or construction.
• Provide technical support and clarifications regarding drawings to the project team, construction workers, or manufacturing personnel. 
• Attend design meetings to contribute to discussions related to mechanical drawings and systems
• Adherence to project timelines and schedules

Minimum qualifications and experiences

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or related field\
• Certification in CAD Software is an added advantage (Inventor, Solidworks Autocad etc)
• Basic Knowledge and experience with Microsoft office product (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Proven experience in mechanical drafting and design
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, components, and assembly processes
• Expertise in in CAD software and 3D modelling tools (Inventor, Solidworks, Autocad etc)
• Minimum 2 Years experience as a draftsman or similar trade.
• 2 Years manufacturing / automotive experience
