    Night Manager – RH Matjhabeng Private Hospital

    Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Night Manager, reporting to the Nursing Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for meeting the needs of the internal and external customers through the execution of the Hospital’s business strategy and operational objectives in growth, quality & people by leading, managing and coordinating all hospital activities at night.

    Critical Outputs

    Effective quality management:

    • Communicating, supporting, coaching and monitoring of night staff in order to ensure a safe patient and staff environment.
    • Identifying clinical competence and addressing the concern with the line manager.
    • Participating and leading quality projects in order to support a culture of quality

    Effective operations management:

    • Ensuring staff allocations are adequately assigned.

    Requirements

    • Degree/Diploma: General Nursing Science.
    • One Year Post Basic Diploma in Nursing Administration.
    • One year Post Basic Diploma in a Specialty: Critical Care, Trauma/Emergency, Midwifery or Theatre.
    • Experience in a similar role.
    • Registration with SANC - all stated qualifications.
    • Computer literate in MS Office Competencies required.

    Registered Nurse (Medical) – RH Matjhabeng Private Hospital

    Description

    • An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (Medical) reporting to the Unit Manager. The successful candidates will form part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring that all our patients receive comprehensive quality nursing care.

    Critical Outputs

    Effective cost management for staff and stock by:

    • Minimising unnecessary stock wastage and facilitating maintenance of equipment.
    • Providing quality patient care.

    • Ensuring daily care rounds are conducted and investigating complaints.

    Requirements

    • Registered with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
    • Two years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse in a Medical ward in private healthcare.

    Case Manager – Royal Buffalo Specialist Hospital

    Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Case Manager, reporting to the Patient Administration Manager. The position’s primary responsibilities include efficient patient case management and the delivery of an efficient and professional service to the internal and external customers. The successful candidate will be goal oriented with strong customer, quality, and performance focus.

    Critical Outputs

    • Carry out clinical coding in accordance with CPT and ICD requirements
    • Ensure that pre-admission and pre-authorisation information is accurate and in accordance with hospital and funder procedures.
    • Maintain patients’ clinical status in accordance with funder approval requirements for the duration of hospitalization; keeping patients informed and managing the entire hospital stays’ financial risk
    • Provide complete and accurate updates and discharge information of all accounts
    • Maintaining accurate accounts of all admissions
    • Handle patient files in accordance with hospital procedures
    • Timeous electronic submission of accounts and follow up on short payments arising from case management related issues.
    • Ensure the adherence of hospital staff to funder rules and coding procedures
    • Keep well informed on legislation pertaining to funders and related Health Care matters

    Requirements

    • SANC registration as an RN
    • High school matric certificate
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience of basic finance and Medical Aid administration procedures will be an advantage
    • Knowledge of hospital billing and tariffs would be an advantage.
    • Have sound computer literacy skills and working knowledge of MS office, word and excel.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form and build strong partnerships
    • Excellent negotiation skills & the ability to interact with tact and diplomacy

    Unit Manager (Neonatal ICU) – Royal Buffalo Specialist Hospital

    Description

    • An opportunity exists for a Unit Manager (Neonatal Intensive Care) to report to the Nursing Services Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring and monitoring the quality nursing care coordinating the multidisciplinary team in the unit.

    Critical Outputs

    • Evaluate and monitor nursing quality indicators and clinical outcomes.
    • Provide cost effective quality patient care in line with clinical governance.
    • Ensure the principles of infection prevention and all international standards precautions are adhered to.
    • Implement quality initiatives.
    • Communicate effectively with patients regarding their care.
    • Function as clinical expert in achieving patient outcomes.
    • Ensure competence of staff and students, determine and drive criteria for effective professional socialization, create an environment conducive to learning and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
    • Promote customer satisfaction within unit, address customer complaints, conduct quality care rounds and clinical practice audits to monitor care levels and report accordingly.
    • Identify clinical and safety risks and trends in all of the above, implement corrective action where necessary and monitor on an ongoing basis.
    • Initiate and drive unit specific best operating practice, communicate these for wider implementation and participate in hospital specific marketing initiatives.
    • Ensure staff are trained on the operation of equipment within unit and together with relevant stakeholders ensure equipment is in working order to provide a safe patient environment.

    Requirements

    • Degree or Diploma in nursing with at least 5 years’ experience in ICU.
    • Qualification in Critical Care Nursing.
    • Current registration with SANC.
    • Previous Unit Management experience.
    • Proven leadership and people management skills would be an advantage.
    • Basic understanding of labour legislation, financial and supply chain management principles.
    • Computer proficiency.
