    Description

    Site Supervisor (Limpopo)

    Description

    • To implement the unit operations plan by understanding the plan and activities including all projects and key performance measures, communicating to the relevant stakeholders and monitoring implementation daily.
    • To report on performance by tracking unit performance against targets, identifying progress and areas of concern, drafting reports and submitting quarterly and as required.
    • To manage unit performance by tracking performance against targets, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective action monthly and as required.
    • To manage the implementation of unit business processes by monitoring compliance, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective action as required.
    • To manage compliance with unit policies and procedures by monitoring adherence to requirements, identifying areas of concern and implementing corrective action as required.  
    • To manage utilization and development of unit systems including software by reviewing utilization, identifying areas for improvement and implementing program to support use as required.
    • To complete production planning by defining and aligning operational plans with site priorities, coordinating with relevant departments and personnel, developing and implementing operational schedules, and managing the ordering, transportation, storage, and distribution of materials as required. 
    • To supervise the maintenance of products and equipment by maintaining an accurate inventory, coordinating the procurement of new and replacement equipment and parts, implementing a system to track equipment location, usage, and condition, and developing a preventative maintenance and testing schedule to ensure optimal performance and longevity. 
    • To mitigate and resolve explosive-related incidents by facilitating investigation and resolution schedules, initiating emergency response procedures, coordinating communication with relevant response stakeholders, and reporting on incidents and resolutions as required.
    • To effectively manage SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) by ensuring that: SHE is implemented by ensuring comprehensive training is provided, the training program is completed, and any gaps or noncompliance identified during training are promptly addressed.
    • SHE is monitored by establishing clear monitoring requirements and standards, ensuring all monitoring activities are completed on time, and resolving identified issues promptly within established deadlines. 
    • SHE compliance is maintained by regularly reviewing SHE practices, identifying areas of noncompliance, and addressing them efficiently within set timelines.
    • To maintain stakeholder relationships by liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, providing input and feedback actions, receiving feedback and contributions and collaborating as required.

    MMU Controller Gr 2 (Limpopo)

    Description

    • To comply with policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of policies, participating in training sessions and sourcing answers to any queries daily and as required.  
    • To comply with processes by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of processes, implementing the correct process and addressing any areas of concern daily.  
    • To propose improvements to processes by identifying an area for improvement, presenting to line manager and providing additional information as relevant.
    • To ensure the safe operation of the MMU by conducting daily pre-start safety checks at the beginning of each shift, inspecting equipment functionality, fluid levels, lights, controls, and overall operation, verifying safe working conditions, and reporting any sub-standard conditions to the Site Supervisor. 
    • To take ownership of MMU care and maintenance by becoming fully conversant with the IBIS Control System, identifying abnormal conditions in both the MMU and work area, performing first-line maintenance, maintaining general housekeeping of the cab, chassis, and plant, and decontaminating the truck according to schedule and as required. 
    • To safely assemble primers to specification by gathering necessary materials, referencing blasting plans and specifications, assembling primers in a controlled environment, securing each component correctly, inspecting for anomalies or defects, and ensuring proper labeling as required. 
    • To prime blast holes safely and in accordance with specifications by reviewing the blast design and hole patterns, correctly placing primers, connecting detonators, installing lead lines and blasting cord, and thoroughly inspecting each blast hole to verify placement and address any issues as required. 
    • To conduct on-bench quality checks on drill patterns, blast hole depths, and stemming lengths by reviewing the blast design, physically inspecting the bench, using appropriate measuring tools to assess hole depths, angles, and stemming lengths, documenting all measurements, identifying and rectifying any deviations from the plan, and reporting discrepancies and risks to the Site Supervisor as required.
    • To contribute to the development and improvement of service work instructions and customer safety initiatives by actively participating in training programs and workshops, staying updated on company standards, policies, procedures, and industry best practices, offering constructive input for process improvements, and promptly reporting any incidents or operational challenges as required. 
    • To implement SHE practices by understanding required actions, implementing and reviewing within deadline or as per process.

    Explosives Operator Gr 2 (Limpopo)

    Description

    • To comply with policies by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of policies, participating in training sessions and sourcing answers to any queries daily and as required  
    • To comply with processes by maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of processes, implementing the correct process and addressing any areas of concern daily

    • To load and unload the MMU with the correct raw materials by ensuring the loading area is secure and free from hazards, verifying that materials meet required specifications, inspecting the MMU for proper functionality, using appropriate tools and equipment, monitoring material quantities, and following established loading and unloading procedures as required. 
    • To assist with stock control by understanding and utilizing the inventory control system to accurately label, categorize, and track stock levels, assisting in receiving stock, entering it into the system, ensuring proper storage, conducting stock checks, and reporting any discrepancies to the Site Supervisor. 
    • To take responsibility for the MMU by regularly cleaning and inspecting the unit, conducting and reporting on basic repairs and maintenance, checking fluid levels, cleaning filters, verifying the functionality of safety features and electrical components, calibrating measurement devices, and performing alignment checks on a monthly basis and as required. 
    • To maintain the work area and designated site areas by cleaning and decontaminating raw material spillages, ensuring proper disposal of waste, identifying potential work hazards or abnormal conditions, and promptly reporting them to the relevant supervisor. 
    • To implement SHE practices by understanding required actions, implementing and reviewing within deadline or as per process. 
    • To comply with SHE standards, processes and practices by maintaining knowledge and expertise in SHE and complying with requirements at all times
