PURPOSE

• To provide general site assistance and support.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with site teams to support the achievement of operational goals and targets.
• Assist with daily inspections of the designated area of responsibility, report any deviations or hazards.
• Support pipeline and valve operations (under supervision).
• Assist with problem-solving of operational challenges and escalate deviations to site teams.
• Assist with any general assigned site activities as required to support operations.
• Perform basic housekeeping duties in work areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Execute all assigned tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Comply with all safety rules, regulations and company procedures.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 / or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of one-year relevant experience.

REQUIREMENTS

Production Requirements

• Operate FEL, TLB Excavator, ADT, Grader and Water Truck to load, dig, clean trenches, ditch slimes dam, maintain access roads connect pipes and build deposition wall.
• Ensure that relevant SOP’s (Standard operating procedure) for each machine are followed at all times.
• Maintain general housekeeping of the machine.
• Conduct pre and post shift inspections and complete inspection checklists.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations.
• Assist maintenance personnel with tasks when required.

Equipment

• Complete pre-shift inspection report at the start of every shift and report all faults and problems to the Supervisor.
• Inspect both the equipment and the working area before operation.

Operator Maintenance

• Operate and maintain equipment in line with OEM specifications.
• Check the condition of the machine and ensure it is always clean.
• Perform lubrication and refueling as required.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12.
• Valid MQA accredited (FEL/ TLB/ Excavator/ ADT/ Grader/ Water Truck) Competency Certificate.

EXPERIENCE

• At least 2-3 years relevant work experience in an earthmoving environment.

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to operate without supervision.
• Planning & problem-solving skills.
• Valid Code 10 driver’s license.

PURPOSE

• This role requires effective leadership, clear communication, and a strong understanding of tailings operations which are essential in executing the tailings deposition plan by planning daily activities, organizing resources, assigning tasks, by guiding the team to meet operational targets.
• The role focuses on managing risks, addressing deviations, and ensuring all work is performed safely and in line with environmental and operational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning

• Select the appropriate equipment for each task.
• Ensure sufficient stock levels are maintained.
• Confirm that emergency equipment is available and in good condition.
• Deploy the workforce effectively.

 Execute Tailings Dam Activities

• Ensure compliance with SOPs
• Maintain mining standards
• Operate emergency catchment to keep levels low
• Clean solution trenches.
• Monitor the flow 
• Measure and control slurry densities.
• Ensure slurry samples are taken
• Ensure completion of daily planned tasks
• Complete the safety declaration.

 Leading

• Train, coach, and motivate team members.
• Communicate effectively with staff and supervisors.
• Ensure employees are aware of hazards and risks.
• Apply fair and consistent disciplinary measures when necessary.
• Address employees’ grievances. Promptly and professionally.

 Team Management

• Monitor staff performance.
• Manage employees’ time sheets and attendance records.
• Ensure equipment is used correctly and stored properly.
• Enforce compliance with written safe work procedures.
• Report and record all incidents accurately.
• Lead by example to build a disciplined, values-driven team environment where behavioral standards are understood and upheld

Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12.
• Skills Program in Slimes Reclamation or Tailings Dam Operation

 EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a General Worker.
