    Commercial Insights Associate

    Job Description

    • A vacancy exists for a Commercial Insights Associate within Kazang – Micro Merchant, Century City, Cape Town.
    • To support the Senior Business Development Manager by delivering data-driven insights, competitor analysis, and on-the-ground input to commercial strategies and project rollouts.
    • This role ensures that sales systems, products, and strategic initiatives are aligned to business needs through strong analytical work and stakeholder engagement.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

    • Build and manage dashboards using Power BI or Excel to track sales, product performance, and strategic KPIs
    • Deliver insight reports to support commercial decision-making.
    • Conduct structured market research and competitor analysis to feed into product innovation and commercial initiatives.
    • Work with product managers to identify and scope improvements to sales and operational systems based on user feedback and commercial insights.
    • Assist in execution and tracking of national-level commercial projects such as POS device rollouts and merchant conversions
    • Engage directly with regional sales teams and selected merchants to collect in-field feedback and inform continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with BI, product, and commercial stakeholders to align execution, reporting, and feedback mechanisms.

    In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be met: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field.
    • Minimum 2-4 years
    • Certifications in Power BI, Excel analytics, SQL, or Agile Project Management.

    Technical Skills: 

    • Power BI / Excel dashboarding
    • SQL / data querying
    • Data storytelling & reporting
    • Competitor & market analysis
    • Project tracking / field implementation exposure
    • POS, payments, or merchant systems knowledge

    Junior Application Support

    Role summary

    • As the Junior Application Support, you will be responsible for resolving tickets using the front end, admin tasks and other provided tools.
    • Escalating to internal resources where necessary.
    • Following up each ticket through to resolution and ticket closure.

    Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Attend daily Application and Technical stand-up meetings
    • Manage the Application Support ticket queue
    • Creation of test credentials for application testers
    • Access request management for Sentry and Google Cloud
    • Resolve escalations from other teams
    • Support channel monitoring for escalations
    • In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be met:
    • Knowledge and experience with Python, SQL or comparable language
    • Technical background and understanding of application support
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Effective communication, collaboration abilities with both technical and business stakeholders
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
    • Experience with Atlassian, Freshdesk, DataDog/Grafana desirable

    Technical Competencies:

    • DB SQL Server
    • General understanding of networks
    • Knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines would be desirable
