    Clinical Applications Support Specialist

    Job Description

    • RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Clinical Application Support Specialist to join their team in Kroonstad, Free State.
    • This role plays a key part in supporting clinical staff with digital tools and enhancing patient care through efficient system usage.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide support for electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
    • Deliver system training, coaching, and mentoring to end users.
    • Oversee clinical-related workflows and offer guidance.
    • Lead or supervise teams in a healthcare setting.
    • Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize technology usage.
    • Troubleshoot system-related issues and escalate when necessary.
    • Assist in testing and validating software updates or changes.
    • Contribute to the development of training materials and documentation.

    Requirements:

    • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a registered/professional nurse (NQF level 7), or equivalent qualification in pharmaceutical sciences or emergency medical care.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience in a private healthcare environment.
    • Currently practicing in direct patient care for 2–3 years.
    • Experience as a shift leader or supervisor.
    • Working knowledge of EMR systems.
    • Previous experience in a specialist unit.

    Clinical Facilitator

    Job Description

    • RPO’s client is seeking a dedicated and academically driven Clinical Facilitator (Hospital-Based Academic Support) to join their hospital education team in Kroonstad, Free State.
    • The ideal candidate will be a registered General Nurse and Midwife with a qualification in Nursing Education, a strong academic background, and a passion for developing the next generation of healthcare professionals in a clinical setting.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide clinical education, supervision, and support to nursing students and staff within the hospital environment
    • Facilitate learning through practical demonstration, coaching, and structured clinical sessions aligned with curriculum outcomes
    • Ensure accurate student assessments, maintain SANC-aligned documentation, and support academic integrity standards
    • Act as a role model of professional nursing practice, integrating theory and clinical skills to improve patient care
    • Collaborate with hospital units and educational institutions to coordinate clinical placements and evaluations
    • Engage in curriculum planning, contribute to internal audits, and participate in professional development initiatives
    • Maintain current knowledge in clinical specialty areas and integrate evidence-based practice into facilitation

    Minimum Requirements

    • Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse and Midwife
    • Nursing Education qualification and Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (essential)
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an academic or clinical facilitation environment
    • Completed Assessor unit standard, registered with SANC (through Heart Solutions)
    • Willingness to complete the Moderator unit standard and register with SANC within the first year of employment
    • Additional qualifications relevant to the clinical specialty being facilitated
    • Own transport and valid driver’s license
    • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital learning platforms
    • A Master's degree in Clinical Specialty/Education is advantageous; commitment to begin Master’s studies within 2 years is required
