    Lab Assistant

    Job Description: 

    Laboratory support:

    • Takes care of the logistics process of samples (fetching, delivering, and storage) in order to support an efficient testing process, preventing delays in the
    • testing and / or production process.
    • Ensure that samples of non-confirming products are sent to the lab for testing.

    Quality control:

    • Monitor online quality by carrying out inspections on on-line activities and completion of necessary check sheets.
    • Verify effectiveness of flushing and product change over to prevent cross contamination.
    • Conduct product colour and texture checks for premixes.
    • Verification of PRP’s and OPRP’s.
    • Ensure product rejected by metal detector is safely isolated, verified, safely disposed and records maintained.
    • Monitoring of process control sheets for completion.
    • Monitoring of labelling and coding on product from receipt to finished product in accordance with traceability system.
    • Practices good housekeeping in their areas of work.
    • Monitors the verification activities of the Food safety system such as Metal detectors , Magnets, scales.
    • Ensure rework generated per shift is recorded.
    • Ensure retention samples are properly labelled.
    • Conduct locker, change rooms, canteen and maintenance toolbox inspections for hygiene and pests
    • Random verification checks on final product or raw materials release at dispatch .

    Reporting:

    • Reports deviations through NCA system and advises of the necessary corrective actions to Supervisors, Maintenance and Quality when required.
    • Report all FS risks to the Supervisors, Maintenance and Quality when required.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Comply with the ISO 22000:2018 FS requirements.
    • Comply with legal and company rules and procedures in the areas of quality, safety and environment 

    Maintenance:

    • Conduct locker, change rooms, canteen and maintenance toolbox inspections for hygiene and pests.
    • Perform random verification of weigh bridge details and deviations reported.

    Other duties:

    • Perform random verification of supplier documents against product label details.
    • Perform weekly checks at the warehouse to verify FIFO/FEFO, product spillages and correct sampling verification.
    • Random checks on the truck inspections checklists for receiving and dispatch.

    Millwright

    Job Description: 

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain all equipment to required standards and respond to production needs and equipment failures.
    • Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
    • Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations. Candidate will be responsible for LOTOTO, issuing of work permits and supervision of contractors.
    • Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime
    • Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
    • Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
    • Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts
    • Develop training material to train operators on how to efficiently operate equipment.
    • Identify critical spare parts for equipment’s and ensure availability of the parts to reduce breakdowns.
    • Investigate the Root cause of major breakdowns.
    • Identifying and reporting potential asset care problems during inspections.

    Who We Are Looking For:

    • Qualification: Matric or equivalent/N3 with a Trade Test as a Millwright.
    • Language: Strong proficiency in English and the local language.
    • Professional Experience and Passion: At least 6 years of relevant experience as a Millwright in a production or manufacturing environment. Exposure to PLCs and AC drives is required. Hands-on troubleshooting and maintenance skills in both mechanical and electrical areas are essential. Prepared to work overtime and do call-outs to meet production needs or address equipment failures.
