EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Have a National Diploma or Degree in Mechatronics /Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or relevant engineering qualification
• At least 3 year’s relevant experience in a production environment

ESSENTIAL:

• Have in-depth knowledge of line automation and visualization equipment and processes, layouts and Final Assembly facilities
• Have knowledge and working understanding of Siemens PLC’s, robotics, networks, automation standards and other automated equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of programming fundamentals
• Have the ability to conduct meetings and must be able communicate at all levels
• Must be flexible, positive, self-driven and a team player 
• Be able to work under pressure
• Proven analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solving
• Computer Literacy (MS Office)
• Be prepared to travel local and abroad so and when required

The Role

Exciting opportunity with an international logistics concern. The successful candidate will be required but not limited to carry out the following duties: process VOC's and duty refunds timeously and to perform a weekly audit on the Customs Tariffs Parts Library on the Operating System.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matriculation Certificate
• A minimum of four years customs Bill of Entry experience
• Customs Affairs Course under SAAFF or MITB accreditation
• Strong, proven experience in an Adjustments environment
• Previous knowledge of the MIDP process would be advantageous
• Sound knowledge of Incoterms
• Knowledge of the Customs Tariff
• HS Explanatory Notes
• Guide to Customs Valuation
• Incoterms, Customs and Excise Act and the Rules is essential

Responsibilities:

• To facilitate all APDP related queries and refunds
• Applications and processing of substitution bills of entry
• Processing duty refunds and any duty drawback refund claims
• Processing CO2 refunds and any relevant VOC adjustments
• Arranging Customs officials to conduct EWOP examinations when necessary to resolve tariff and other customs related issues
• To finalise outstanding stop notes and audit queries where applicable
• To update the PP and refund schedules regularly and elevate any problems immediately, as soon as aware of same
• Promote and monitor safety in the workplace with specific reference to immediate working environment and report all non-conformances relating to good house-keeping standards and/or safety
• Ensure invoices and credit notes are processed correctly and timeously
• Outstanding recons are actioned
• Arranging credits to Clients timeously for duties refunded by Customs
• VOC's to be done in accordance with Clients instructions
