    Technician DBS Technical Support (Northern Cape - Various Locations)

    Description

    • Support business technical functions on electronic initiating systems application and deployment
    • Train and assist blasting personnel with product application, performance, and optimization.
    • Verbal and written feedback to customer, with respect to product performance.
    • Perform product observations, problem solving and blast design.
    • Implementation and monitoring of Quality Assurance and Quality Control measures pertaining to supply and service of explosives.
    • Value-add to Business Unit and customer operations and projects.
    • Travel and work on mine sites independently both locally and internationally.
    • Be on standby for a minimum of two weeks per month.
    • Overtime work as and when require

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 with Math’s & Science (Must)
    • Valid driver’s license (Must)
    • 3-5 years ‘experience in the application and training of digital blasting systems or electronic initiation systems (Must)
    • 3-5 years’ experience in the drill and blast environment in surface and/or underground mines (very advantageous)
    • Certified Explosive Engineers Certificate (very advantageous)
    • Experience in fault finding and repairing electronic circuits (very advantageous)
    • Blasting Certificate (Surface/Underground) (advantageous)
    • Tertiary Qualification (advantageous)
    • Tertiary Qualification in Mining / Electronic / Electrical Engineering (advantageous)

    Explosive Operator (Northern Cape - Kudumane)

    Description

    • Comply with all Customer rules and procedures when operating at Customer sites.
    • Assist the Explosives Controller to conduct routine fault finding, trouble shooting, maintenance and repairs on the MMU process plant and chassis.
    • Assist the Site Administrator with stock control.
    • Load and unload the MMU with the correct raw materials.
    • Unload raw materials (emulsion Matrix and Expan tankers).
    • Cleaning and decontamination of MMU.
    • Identification of any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and reporting thereof to the Explosives Controller and/or Site Supervisor.
    • Maintain ownership of bulk explosives MMU by conducting good housekeeping of the cab, chassis and plant.
    • Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of any spillage in the correct waste streams.
    • Ensure correct PPE is used, is in good condition and is correctly worn at all times.
    • Housekeeping of work area.
    • Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately ( Hirac & Risk Assessment).
    • Comply to the Mine`s safety and health procedures.
    • Attend to mines induction training.
    • Maintain basic safety, health and environment issues.
    • Assess the product application practices.
    • Identify incorrect product application practices.
    • Demonstrate and coach the correct practices.

    Requirements

    • Must have Grade 12.
    • 1-2 years’ experience in the mining or similar environment.
    • Possession of a valid code C Driver’s license is advantageous.
    • Blasting Assistant Certificate is advantageous.
    • Competency A Certificate is advantageous.

    Assistant Magazine Master Mogalakwena (Limpopo - Mokopane)

    Description

    • Ensuring that final product is managed responsibly within the requirements of the Chief Inspector of Explosives by adhering to Chapter 8 of the Explosives Act. 

    FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

    • Managing the magazine personnel in the movement of product in and out of explosives magazines to fulfil customer requirements.
    • Coordinating and managing magazine compliance.
    • Ensure correctness of Magazine registers to physical stock, use correct colour pens for booking in and out.
    • Responsible for Weed control.
    • Ensure that Magazine licences available and not exceeded.
    • Ensure availability of stock, internal and external.
    • Maintain minimum stock levels.

    Sourcing Specialist Direct Materials (Mpumalanga - Secunda)

    Description
    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate due to scarcity/spend or risk of supply.
    • Process sourcing needs through inquiry and certification of suppliers that adhere to processes and procedures.
    • Secures direct materials when necessary, based on previously determined schedules or newly created target dates. Working with warehousing and stock control to monitor consumption and reorder points to ensure supply continuity.
    • Complete purchase orders and other related documentation pertaining to procurement of direct materials.
    • Controls documents pertaining to all the direct materials suppliers. Maintain Supplier Map (Supplier data base) as well as investigate new suppliers.
    • To classify direct materials procured in the spot market according to their levels of supply risk.
    • Experience and knowledge in Import and export.
    • Market analysis
    • Developing spot buying plans on a dynamic basis and management of R10m delegation of authority as per purchase order.
    • To balance business drivers and risk in order to maintain 100% plant availability at optimal landed cost possible.
    • Maintains and controls transport costs provision for any order as per negotiated incoterm.
    • Ad hoc visits to supplier base to investigate potential suppliers and conduct negotiations, certification audits and quality quarantine audits. Negotiates with suppliers in the pre-qualifying stage and in routine procurement to obtain best possible price/ value to meet target pricing.
    • Assist production as necessary by expediting raw materials when category management has exhausted all other possibilities.

     Requirements     

    • Relevant University Bachelors Degree (Logistic Management/ Procurement and Supply).

    • 6+ relevant years.

    Artisan Electro Mechanic Booysendal (Limpopo - Booysendal)

    Description
    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    • To ensure continuous vehicles availability through effective maintenance and service. To maintain vehicles and handling of breakdowns at all sites locally and in neighbouring countries. Do monthly site inspections and maintenance on pumps, valves and silos.

    • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license (Min code 10), wish code 11 or code EB.
    • Red Ticket.
    • Minimum of five years’ experience as an electro mechanic (Millwright).
