    Medical Specialist Grade 1-3 (Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery)

    Requirements :

    • Senior/National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery plus MMed (Surg) or FCS (SA).

    • Assist in the implementation of Non-Communicable Disease, Geriatric and Long Term Domiciliary Oxygen Therapy (LTDOT) including Palliative care strategic goals. Assist in Support, Monitoring and Evaluation of all Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Control programme in the Districts, Sub-Districts and Facilities. Liaise with districts, Sub-Districts Coordinators/Managers in management of NCDs. Capacitate and develop sub districts NCD coordinators through training and supportive supervision.
    • Assist in Organising, attend and lead NCDs meetings. Be available to attend other meetings within Public Health Directorate related meetings as well as other meetings related to the NCDs at both Provincial and National levels. Provide the necessary support during disease outbreaks and Campaigns especially in the Long Term care residential facilities (LTCRF).
    • Collate, analyse and disseminate relevant NCDs data. Compile monthly, quarterly and annual NCDs reports and be ready to provide Portfolio of evidence to collaborate these reports.     • Lead and coordinate Palliative Care within the NCD programme, including planning, implementation, monitoring, stakeholder engagement and technical support across all levels of care. Assist in implementing Key Geriatric Activities in the Gauteng Province.
    • Provide necessary support to the funded and non-funded Older Persons Residential Care Facilities, Service Centres and Old Age Homes and other Long-Term Care Facilities. Work with other stakeholders to implement the Older Persons Act 13 of 2006. Monitor and support the implementation of RT72 contract through administration of Long Term Domiciliary Oxygen Therapy (LTDOT) Programme for patients (children and adults) with Chronic Obstructive Airways Diseases. Represent Non-Communicable Diseases cluster as required at local, regional and international levels as well as interdepartmentally and intra-departmentally. Be responsible for the budget of the NCD Sub-Directorate including Expenditure control. Assist in defining budgetary requirements for the function as per department guidelines and the PFMA and risks management. Supervision, motivation and development of the subordinates with management of dynamics of the team. Conduct and supervise any necessary research needed to improve the management of NCDs.

    Chief Community Liaison Officer

    Requirements :

    • Grade 12 with a minimum of five ( 5 ) years' relevant experience in Health Promotion, or Wits Health Promotion Certificate(s), or a Diploma in Health Promotion from the University of Limpopo, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Health Promotion, Public Health, Community Development or any NQF level 6 qualification.
    • A valid South African driver's license is compulsory. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Sound knowledge of Primary Health Care, Health Promotion policies and strategies, community mobilisation and stakeholder engagement. Good report writing, presentation and communication skills. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage.
    • OTHER SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must possess excellent leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to coordinate and support Health Promoters and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders. Sound planning, organising, monitoring and evaluation skills. Ability to analyse information, compile reports and meet deadlines. Good conflict management, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the sub-district and to work after hours, weekends and public holidays when required.
    • The successful candidate must be willing to be permanently based in Sub-District 1. Preference will be given to suitably qualified current Tshwane District Health Promoters, as this post is intended to provide a promotional opportunity within the Health Promotion programme.

    Duties :

    • Coordinate, supervise and support the implementation of Health Promotion programmes within Sub-District 1. Supervise Health Promoters and provide mentoring, coaching and supportive supervision.
    • Coordinate community mobilisation initiatives and health awareness campaigns in collaboration with health facilities, schools, municipalities, faith-based organisations, NGOs and community structures. Facilitate health promotion activities in line with National and Provincial priorities.
    • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual reports and monitor programme performance indicators. Coordinate implementation of commemorative health days, outreach services and community dialogues. Participate in outbreak response activities and public health emergency interventions.

    • Maintain and ensure effective and professional communication between the office, internal and external stakeholders. Ensure office is equipped with necessary supplies. Attend and manage enquiries as soon as possible. Develop and implement effective and efficient filing system in line with the Departmental Record Management policy framework and the National Archives Act.

    Chief Diagnostic Radiographer (Grade 1-2)

    Requirements :

    • Recognised Bachelors’s Degree or National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography. Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) in Radiography.
    • A minimum of three (3) years as a Diagnostic Radiographer after registration as an Independent Practitioner with HPCSA.     Duties :

    • Ensure provisioning of a 24-hours Radiographic services in the Community Health Centre and the District. Always manage conflict and implement corrective measures. Strategically coordinate and delegate departmental activities and resources to achieve maximum productivity. Coordinate and manage referral pathways across the district. Liaise Radiography service-related issues with other stakeholders (internal or external).
    • Ensure accurate patient records, including recording of radiation dose and exposure factors are kept and maintained. Ensure effective and efficient management of allocated Human, Physical, and Financial resources. Formulate and execute operational plans and ensuring achievements of set targets.
    • To supervise, develop, train and monitor the performance of the sub-ordinate staff, students and other related category of staff in all aspects of service delivery whilst adhering and complying with Batho Pele Principles, Regulated Norms and Standards and other Public Service policies and Acts.
    • Ensure timeous submission of monthly reports institutionally, district and provincially, manage overtime budget and expenditure and submit the performance report to the manager. Attend meetings and CPD trainings as prescribed. Must be a team player within the department and in the multi-disciplinary team in the clinic and district. Ensure recommended maintenance of the X-Ray equipment. Perform and ensure that prescribed SAHPRA Quality Assurance protocols are adhered to. Perform any ad-hoc duties allocated by management.
