    Industrial Refrigeration Technician

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • Servicing and Maintaining of equipment’s (Services equipment’s). Ensure that the Refrigeration, Boiler plant is running efficiently.

     

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    Equipment Availability

    • Achieve Utilities availability of 99%
    • Achieve overall equipment availability 97%(processing area ) shared KPI
    • Initiate Root cause analysis( 5 Y principle)
    • Execute all maintenance schedules

    Safety

    • Do BOS minimum 4 per month to reduce safety incident at the work place
    • Do risk assessment for each job given to eliminate all potential safety related issues.
    • All work done inside restricted area must be accompanied by the relevant safety form (confined space etc.)
       

    Energy intensity

    • Monitor equipment performance and hence reduce coal usage target of 1.4 mj/kg monthly
    • Monitor equipment performance and hence reduce electricity usage targe of 2.5 mj/kg monthly

    Quality

    Ensure that all quality standards are met ( Good manufacturing practice )
    Pass all AIB audit with zero findings
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Refrigeration Diploma, Qualified Fitter
    • Code B Ammonia Refrigeration  
       

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ammonia plant operations
    • Boiler plant operations
    • Effluent plant operations
    • Cold-room ,Condensers, Evaporators, Compressors and Ammonia pumps Maintenance
    • SAP ( CMMS)
       

    LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Code B ( Ammonia )
    • Boiler Operator Certificate
       

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Able to operate an Ammonia refrigerated plant.
    • Able to operate Coal steam Boiler
    • Able to operate effluent plant
    • Conduct Root cause analysis on the ammonia ,Boiler and effluent plant
    • Able to repair Pumps, de-oiling of ammonia system , Repair pumps, servicing of ammonia condensers, Servicing of Ammonia compressors
    • Do monthly Boiler inspection and checks
    • Repair/Servicing of conveyor systems
    • Repair and servicing of Cold-room doors
    • Servicing of ammonia valve stations
    • Service/ repair hydraulic system
    • The candidate must be able to work with SAP – plant maintenance.
    • Respond to Ammonia and Fire alarms as per McCain procedure.

    Procurement Buyer: MRO Materials

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    • The SAF (South Africa) Indirect MRO buyer is an operational role assisting McCain Manufacturing Plants situated in Springs, Marble Hall, and Lichtenburg, to secure Stock and Non-stock materials and once-off Maintenance Services.  With a vision and plan to build a best-in-class procurement team across the business in its entirety. 
    • The Indirect MRO buyer will contribute and mainly assist local McCain plants and occasionally give input to regional and global strategies.  The MRO Buyer will execute sourcing & automation strategies to deliver security of supply and sustainable cost savings for the business. 
    • This category includes the purchasing of all Maintenance Materials and Maintenance Services. The spend for this category will range from R100 – R120 million annually.  The Indirect MRO buyer will lead the sourcing execution, by applying key procurement activities for the category.
    • It is an exciting time of change and opportunity within the procurement function at McCain.  The MRO buyer will have an ability to realize significant wins for the business where significant impact can be made through standardization and automation. The MRO buyer will help to shape the function and help to establish best practices locally with a big focus on compliance.

     

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Execution of operational buying and were applicable buying strategies for the MRO Stock and Non-Stock Materials Category.
    • Ensuring company purchases in the spend pool comply with internal company controls and requirements.  This will include monitoring supplier performance (OTIFQ – On-time-in-Full-to Specification) versus expectations/service level agreements.
    • Implementation of Catalogues and Automate repetitive requirements .
    • Serving as a team member in sourcing activities to include vendor selections, negotiations, catalogue and category management;
    • Establishing and maintaining day-to-day working relationships with internal and external business partners;
    • Recommending and executing best practices for the business in developed and new markets;
    • Influencing internal clients to align with the regional and global buying strategy;
    • Participating in external forums and associations;
    • Ensuring compliance with proper procedures, policies, systems and controls;
    • Operations and business results;
    • Leading and contributing to global/regional projects.
       

    EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Buying Diploma as a minimum, degree in purchasing will be an advantage.
    • A minimum of 2 years of MRO spares buying experience.
    • Industry experience has ideally been gained in the fast moving consumer goods industry desired but not essential.
    • Competency in analyzing buying trends, attention to detail - ensuring accuracy in every step and problem solving. 
    • Has a proven track record of successfully influencing change within a business.
    • Identify and execute opportunities to realize cost savings for the business.
    • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to handle tight deadlines and many competing priorities.
    • Strong quality assurance orientation.
    • Strong administrative capabilities with proficiency in SAP, COUPA and Excel.
    • He/she has good influencing, collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal) and is able to build strong working relationships.
    • The ideal candidate will have the presence, intellect, energy, drive, people skills and business acumen to succeed in a fast paced, high-performance environment and will be self-motivated.
