    Technical Clerk

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 or similar qualification.
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in office administration.
    • Proficient in MS Office.
    • Ability to capture data accurately.
    • Self-driven and well disciplined.
    • Professional appearance.
    • Understanding of basic technical concepts.
    • Excellent communication and telephone skills.
    • Be able to work under pressure.
    • Valid driver’s license (Code B / EB) with own transport.

    WORK DISCRIPTION:

    • Accurate data capturing.
    • Understanding of technical drawings will be an advantage.
    • Office administration.
    • Management and distribution of documents.
    • Organize meetings, agenda, meeting minutes.
    • Liaise with clients and others.

    Control & Instrumentation Engineer

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of B Eng/BSc Eng degree in Chemical, Mechatronic or Electronic Engineering.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Control and Instrumentation Engineer.
    • Professional registration with ECSA will be an advantage.
    • Strong knowledge of process control principles, instrumentation technologies (flow, temperature, pressure, level etc.) and control elements.
    • Strong knowledge of DCS/PLC and ESD systems.
    • Knowledge of functional safety standards (IEC 61508) and intrinsic safety (SANS 60079 & 10108).
    • Knowledge of analyzer systems will be an advantage.
    • First-hand experience of driving to get tasks done. Be able to share by means of examples.
    • Leadership and organizational skills, be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter, “go-getter”.
    • Good interpersonal relations with the ability to market services.
    • Good report writing skills in the English language.
    • Good communication skills with the ability to comprehend explanations of complex systems and problem statements.
    • Organized and self-disciplined.
    • Valid driver’s license with own transport (Code B / EB) and the ability to drive vehicles with manual transmission.

    • We are seeking a skilled and motivated control and instrumentation engineer to join the MegChem team in Secunda.
      The engineer will be responsible for control, instrumentation and automation engineering and development of instrumentation and control systems for a diverse range of projects.

    Control & Instrumentation : Technician/Technologist

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum qualification of a N.Dip/B.Tech or equivalent (Electronics/Instrumentation).
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Control and Instrumentation Technician/Technologist.
    • Professional registration with ECSA will be an advantage.
    • Knowledge of Hazardous area classifications and implementations.
    • A good knowledge of instrumentation (temperature, flow, pressure, level etc.) and control element design practices.
    • Knowledge of DCS, ESD and PLC systems.
    • Knowledge of HMI and SCADA systems.
    • Be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter, good interpersonal relations, hands-on experience or proper exposure to the implementation of own designs. Candidates to demonstrate their abilities by means of examples.
    • First-hand experience of driving to get tasks done. Be able to share by means of examples.
    • Efficient time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
    • Good understanding of general business administration.
    • Good report writing skills in the English language.
    • Organized and self-disciplined.

    WORK DISCRIPTION:

    • Design, engineering and specification of control & instrumentation equipment and systems. Handling technical and engineering challenges that may arise from instrumentation field work being carried out on green and brown fields projects. Drafting of technical specifications for procurement of services and equipment from suppliers. Managing the workload, resource loading, client relations and quality of work produced.

    Control & Instrumentation Designer

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of NQF4/Trade test certificate in Control and Instrumentation.
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in petrochemical environment.
    • Prior experience as an Instrumentation Designer will be an advantage.
    • Be able to work as part of a larger team to achieve deadlines and the required work quality.
    • Knowledge of SmartPlant INTools, Auto Cad or similar experience will be an advantage.
    • Proficient in MS Office.
    • Be able to work independently and in a team, self-starter.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Be able to work under pressure.
    • Valid driver’s license with own transport (Code B / EB) and the ability to drive vehicles with manual transmission.

    WORK DISCRIPTION:

    • The work will require detailed engineering/design and as-building of instrumentation information. This will also entail doing redlines of the documents and then updating the documents on SmartPlant INTools.
