    Diesel Technician - Harrismith

    What you will do

    The main purpose of the job is to produce the required labor hours through maintenance and repair work, in accordance with the Company quality and efficiency standards.

    Reporting: This position reports to the Branch Manager.

    Job Objectives:

    • Fault-finding and diagnosis on Volvo Products by interpreting product “under performance” and/or failure.
    • Interpret and implement information in Volvo Manual and Service Literature.
    • By following directives provided in Workshop Manuals, produce work of Volvo acceptable standards.
    • Follow repair, maintenance instructions and specifications as per the manual.
    • Ensure excellence in customer service delivery through meticulously following procedures/processes.
    • Provide comprehensive and accurate reports on diagnosis, assessment of component/part, failures, observations, actions and recommendations.
    • Follow procedures for breakdown work:
      • Liaise with driver before responding to customer breakdowns;
      • Ensure the correct documentation is in place and accurately completed before submission.
    • Compliance to ISO 9001 and other Safety standards.

    Qualification & Job Experience

    • Matric/N3.
    • Trade Test Certificate - Qualified Diesel Mechanic.
    • 3 years Dealership experience in maintenance and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles.

    Key Competencies

    • Ability to read all relevant measuring equipment.
    • Knowledge/skills to effect correct repair work.
    • Ability to interpret technical manuals and specifications and put into practice.
    • Must be able to speak, read and write English.

    Service Administrator - Riverhorse

    What you will do

    The main purpose of the job is to ensure that all administration pertaining to the workshop process is dealt with efficiently.

    Reporting: This role will report to the Service Manager.

    Job Objectives:

    Warranty and Maintenance administration

    •  Ensure that Warranty and Maintenance claims are submitted timeously in accordance with the warranty binder and maintenance procedures. 
    •  Ensure zero rejection rate. 
    •  Ensure parts are disposed of in accordance with directives and policies. 
    •  Ensure that all parts in the claim store is clearly marked according to relevant procedures. 
    •  Ensure the accuracy and back-up of all relevant documentation including but not limited to job cards e.g. photos, protocols, defect reports, sublet invoices etc. 
    •  Ensure jobs are costed within VST parameters. 
    •  Make sure all sublet invoices are loaded on job cards and forwarded to finance for payment. 
    •  All job cards must be signed off by the Line Manager.
    • Opening and processing of job cards for repairs, maintenance and servicing
    •  Ensure information on job card received from workshop include all relevant information e.g. registration number, chassis number, kilometre reading etc.
    •  Recording service type, e.g. basic, annual etc.
    •  Record any other faults e.g. brake lights not working, vehicle overheating, etc
    •  Transferring all relevant information onto job card on computer.
    •  Carry out credit checks.
    •  Ensure that job card is allocated to correct account i.e. customer, warranty, maintenance contract.
    •  Ensure that job cards are signed by Driver/owner or relevant responsible person.

    Outwork/sublet orders

    •  Raising a sublet order.
    •  Ensure outwork supplier submit quotation for work to be done.
    •  Sublet order raised against the job (First copy to outlet supplier, second to costing file and third to the job card).
    •  Copy of processed invoice and order to be attached to job card.
    • Closing of job cards (work in progress)
    •  Ensure that daily WIP controls are in place and that regular follow ups are done with workshop team leaders to ensure continuous flow of process.
    •  Ensure job card has been completed as required with all relevant information, i.e. date, work carried out, time started, time finished, total time worked, VST, cause of failure, etc.
    •  Ensure that owner or relevant person sign acceptance of work and/or parts fitted.
    •  Ensure job is signed off by relevant Technician, the Team Leader and the Service Manager before closure.

    Qualification & Job Experience

    • Matric / N3 or equivalent.
    • Computer Skills.
    • SAP/GDS Fusion.
    • Strong administrative background

    Branch Manager - Middelburg

    What you will do

    The main purpose of the role includes, but is not be limited to, planning, motivating and coordinating the dealership’s management through effective leadership and solid business practices. Ensuring customer satisfaction, profitability and the achievement of the financial plan in the Truck Centre.

    Reporting: This role reports to Director: Retail Operations.

    • To ensure you achieve the strategic business plan and objectives.
    • To meet or exceed planned performance against the following KPI’s:
      • Parts sales and Gross Profit (GP).
      • Workshop sales and Gross Profit (GP).
      • Materials & Conversions.
      • S & A Expense Control (Profit and Loss Statement).
      • Aftermarket absorption.
      • Operating Income / Margin.
    • To ensure that you and employees comply with all Health and Safety requirements in the execution of their duties.
    • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring that all activities are customer centric and value adding.
    • Ensure that WIP is managed by correctly allocating costs and invoicing work at the earliest opportunity whilst adhering to the Company’s work instructions and procedures.
    • Ensure a full staff compliment at all times and ensuring that procedures are followed in line with relevant policies.
    • Ensure the completion of performance evaluations on a regular basis.
    • Effectively communicating with Business Control to ensure consistency with projections.
    • Coordinating regular meetings with the managers to ensure their profitability and efficiency.
    • To manage, develop and motivate employees in accordance with Company policy and culture.
    • Overseeing and maintaining compensation plans for all employees as per the company policy.
    • Ensure that all performance touch points and dialogues be completed on a regular basis.
    • Ensure that all Volvo Group policies and procedures are adhered to and that all legislation is complied to.
    • Ensure that the dealer is run as efficiently as possible.

    Qualification & Job Experience

    • Business Management Degree or related qualification.
    • Minimum 5 years industry management experience (preferably commercial trucks).
