    Case Manager

    Summary
    The Case Manager will be responsible for the liaison between the patient and medical aids to secure payment for the hospital

    • Ensure all the relevant details on the Hospital Billing System are updated and accurate
    • Supply all details regarding patients’ history to Clinical partners
    • Monitor and control costs for Managed Care Organisation patients
    • Confirm the length of stay for all Managed Care Organisation patients
    • Accompany Managed Care Organisation Case Managers on ward rounds in the hospital
    • Assist with final authorisation of Managed Care patient files
    • Ensure correct coding for all Managed Care Organisation patients
    • Consult with the relevant service providers regarding the patient care treatment
    • Assist with the transfer of patients to the Rehab Hospital or step-down facilities
    • Liaise with a network of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the managed care of patients is maintained
    • Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good, mutually beneficial working relationships

    Requirements

    Patient Services Manager

    Summary

    • The Patient Services Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Administration area. They will also be responsible for ensuring admissions and discharge of patients is done in a professional, friendly and timeous manner as well as creating and maintaining a goodwill with doctors and liaison with nursing staff regarding bed bookings

    Requirements

    • A tertiary qualification in Administration or Office Management or related

    Unit Manager

    Summary

    • The Unit Manager will be responsible for coordinating Improved Quality Nursing Care by ensuring compliance with professional and ethical practice. The incumbent will be accountable for coordinating the Training, Development and Mentoring of staff in the Unit.     Registered Nurse

    Summary

    • The Registered Nurse will render and promote cost-effective, safe quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards and policies. As a Professional Practitioner, the incumbent is also responsible for and is held accountable for his/her acts and omissions.

    Unit Manager - ICU 3 Post Basic Qualilfied

    Summary

    • Communicate effectively with patients, families and parents regarding the patient’s care

    Case Manager -Gateway

    Summary

    • Busamed Gateway Private Hospital is looking for a suitably qualified, customer-focussed case manager to provide case management services in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The position encompasses the daily management of patient accounts whilst working as part of a team.

    Responsibilities and Duties: 

    • Minimizing the financial risk to the hospital by fulfilling the contractual obligation to the funders which includes providing accurate clinical information, timeously requesting of extension of stay or rand amount and obtaining authorization for procedures performed.
    • Accurately code the following accounts: In- patient and day cases.
    • Accurate and timeous communication and follow up with medical aids
    • Compulsory daily ward rounds
    • Be a part of the risk team to ensure constant focus on reducing internal days in the organisation
    • Manage the daily discharge files via the DNFB report and ensure submissions to medical aids are done within 8 hours of discharge.
    • Assume responsibility and accountability for the successful completion of all assigned tasks through management of time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently and accurately, considering all areas involved, no matter how small, in all aspects of the job.
    • Maintain effective relationships with all internal and external customers, and ensure all actions promote customer service excellence.
    • Ensure processes are in line with the working procedures and policies of Busamed Gateway Private Hospital

    Requirements

    • Minimum Grade 12 (Matric)
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled / Registered Nurse
    • Compliance with the SANC code for an Enrolled / Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislation
    • ICD/CPT coding certificate will be an advantage

    Work Experience

    • 1 - 2 years working experience in private healthcare / hospital environment
    • Relevant experience in the nursing discipline would be an advantage
