    Explosives Material Handler (B1) (Mining South Shaft)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Magazine Master or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
    • Advantageous: Magazine Master Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 6 moths exposure in Mining / Plant Environment Experience.
    • 6 months Materials Handling Experience.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Safely ensure all operations and activities related to Materials handling are processed in a timeous and accurate manner.
    • All material is registered on the system upon delivery and proof of delivery and goods receipt slip are kept pending until the invoice is received. Perform a counter inspection on the goods received and reconciled in terms of quantity and specification, part number and condition against the original order. All stock items are identified with the material number, unitized according to the buying description and the date of receipt is written on all perishables.
    • Daily checking of physical stock against stock registers and stock balance. Issuing of explosives. Sorting of explosives into accessory bays and explosive bays. Daily stock control and stock-taking.
    • Correct record keeping of quantity of emulsion. Report deviations of delivery of explosives to the supervisor.
    • Correct procedures are followed when receiving explosives or accessories. All material explosives and accessories received are stored safely according to set specifications and regulations in a designated area. Ensure underground explosive stores are always locked, according to procedure. Ensure Key Control Procedure is followed for underground explosive stores and elephant foot bags.
    • Ensure good housekeeping of explosive stores and emulsion bay. Ensure good stacking of materials according to procedure.

    Mechanical Foreman (C5) (Engineering North Shaft)

    •  The successful applicant will report to the General Engineering Superintendent or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate with Maths / Maths literacy.
    • Relevant Trade Test Certificate
    • N4 Certificate: Engineering Studies.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.

     EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 5 years practical relevant trade experience within a heavy industry / mining / production environment.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Ensure equipment availability and reliability through application of maintenance management systems and resources to achieve production targets, and to ensure construction of new conveyor belts. To plan, execute and manage the section in line with the department/ functional requirements in order to meet business objectives. To implement and manage an effective safety health environment and quality management system to ensure the mine meets legal requirements and continuously strives to improve its inherent risk profile.
    • Ensure effective and preventative maintenance management of infrastructure machines, systems and equipment to limit failure and optimize production processes.
    • Ensure operational efficiency and quality through appropriate monitoring. Assume responsibility for coordinating first line maintenance to limit equipment downtime. Control equipment availability through close monitoring and appropriate management of relevant service providers.
    • Participate as required in improvement projects toward enhancing availability. Ensure equipment optimization by conducting timeous investigations, benchmarking and feasibility studies toward identifying deviations / deficiencies in a proactive manner Make recommendations in respect of appropriate principles / methodology to be followed.
    • Oversee the contracting services rendered to the entire mine by assisting in developing a scope and managing the commercial process to appoint Contractors. Manage relevant contractors on site and ensure adherence to rules and regulations. Monitor contractor performance in accordance with SLA's. Maintain and improve operational supporting systems and procedures including management of contractor performance against service level agreements. Evaluate contractor performance and provide feedback to improve services.
    • Maintaining and servicing of equipment. Scheduling and coordinating of mechanical maintenance service. Coordinate planned maintenance. Breakdown prioritizing.
    • Compile and distribute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports and documentation.
    • Monitor tasks delegated to subordinates to ensure departmental effectiveness and targets are met.

    Technical Control Room Operator (C2) (Engineering South)

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 2 years’ experience on System Integration in Mining (Smart Mine technologies).
    • 2 years’ experience on SCADA/OT Networks/Alarm Systems.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Provide advanced technical support to EC&I teams in the control room, overseeing fault finding, commissioning, compliance checks, and system performance across all levels and services. Lead monitoring and management of integrated systems with additional access to OT networks, power networks, SCADA, analytical tools, and alarm management systems, driving optimizations in alignment with smart mining digital stack strategies for predictive maintenance, system efficiency, and team guidance. Support UG Control operators. Adhere to all MHSA rules, monitoring and control systems.
    • Lead EC&I teams in fault finding and commissioning of systems across all levels and services. Access OT networks, power networks, SCADA, and analytical tools for advanced diagnostics. Verify system performance and compliance during commissioning, guiding juniors.
    • Oversee compliance checks on systems, networks, and equipment. Monitor and optimize system performance using alarm management systems and analytical tools. Analyse data to identify issues and ensure adherence to standards, delegating tasks as needed.
    • Conduct shifts takeover checklist with fellow operator. including system integration status. Report any deviations connected systems and assign follow-up. Fault resolution time.
    • Maintain high standards of data accuracy in integrated environments. Prepare reports on faults, compliance, and performance. Produce relevant documentation for digital workflows. Participate in meetings and provide administrative support for tech integrations, including team coordination.
    • Provide support to plant operators in their functions if and when needed, including technical assistance on systems and troubleshooting.

    IT Junior Cyber Security Administrator (B4) (Finance)

    • Responsible for supporting the organisation’s cybersecurity posture by assisting with the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of security controls, tools, and processes. The role focuses on ensuring that networks, systems, and data remain protected while gaining hands-on experience with security operation.
    • Network & Security Support: Supporting patching, antivirus checks, and baseline security configurations for desktops and servers. Assisting in updating disaster recovery documentation (e.g., asset lists, backup results, privileged users). Reporting system issues affecting critical business applications for escalation to senior administrators.
    • Desktop Infrastructure & Server Security Support: Manage and maintain all server environments, including Microsoft, cloud-based, and on-premises platforms.     •  Process Optimization & Reporting: Analyze system performance and generate reports on IT infrastructure efficiency, security, and uptime.     • Conduct mini risk assessment in own area of work and within span of control prior to every task performed.
    • All defects and status of tools and equipment are recorded, signed and handed over to the supervisor. Relevant tools and electrical equipment is maintained and functional and utilized according to manufacturer specifications.

    • Ensure involvement with face preparation before drilling a face. Preparation and transportation of explosives. Responsible for charging up the round prior to blasting.
    • Create a safe work area and good housekeeping. Conduct early examination. Water down after blasting. Examine the face. Wash sockets. Clean the face with a shovel. Demarcate the geological features. Assist with measurements and direction lines. Treating of misfires under supervision. Adhere to current operating procedure requirements.

    Miner (C2) (Mining South Shaft)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Shift Overseer or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
    • Certificate: Blasting for Scheduled Mines or
    • National Certificate: Hard Rock Underground.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Advantageous: Competent A & B Certificate.
    • Advantageous: Blasting Assistant Certificate.

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 2 years trackless mining practical experience.
    • Advantageous: 2 years mining experience.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • To ensure the effective operation of all blasting and mining activities during a shift. To supervise team activities whilst ensuring safe practices and continuous inspection of working place conditions. Planning to achieve operational targets and monitoring the availability of resources.
    • Testing for gases by using appropriate instruments, check ventilation and, if necessary, evacuate team. Ensure that the working areas are safe through conducting early visual and other examinations. Disconnecting of blasting systems. Ensure and oversee the barring of the hanging wall, sidewalls and face. Ensure the watering down of the workplace. Monitor ventilation flow and control.  Install temporary support by marking, and deploying rigs, remote operations. Oversee the installation of temporary support according to the required standard. Check sockets for any indication of misfires. Deal with substandard/ hazardous conditions and unsafe working practices. Ensure that pre-use inspections are done on equipment.
    • Marking off of permanent support patterns. Oversee the installation of permanent [and temporary] support according to the   required standard.
    • Check the barring of the face. Demarcate and remove misfires according to the   required standard. Oversee and ensure the cleaning and plugging of sockets. Place old explosives in elephant bag and lock in old explosives box according to standard. Demarcate any geological features. Assess face shape, dimensions and results of previous blast. Install/ extend direction and   limit lines from survey pegs. Mark the face according to required standard.
    • Ensure preparation of drilling equipment to the required standard. Oversee and ensure the compliance to indicated marks, direction lines and depth of holes. Ensure that the correct PPE is being used in drilling operations. Ensure installations of roof bolts are according to the required standard. Oversee and ensure mid-shift barring is done according to the required standards.
    • Test work area for flammable gases according to the required standards. Collect the required amount and type of explosives according to hole dimensions. Control explosives and prepare working area to   standard to ensure safe and effective blasting. Check and ensure the de-sludging of shot holes before charging up. Charge shot holes according to the required standards. Attach explosive accessories. Test of blasting wires. Deal with excess explosives and accessories according to the required standard.
    • Adhere to waiting place procedures. Checking the storing of tools, material and equipment to the required standard and procedures. Report any sub-standard deviations/defects to the Shift Overseer. Adhere to blasting procedures at the end of the shift according to the required mine standards and procedures. Complete night shift/day shift communication book. Report all incidents / accidents to the Control Room or Shift Overseer. Ensure all equipment is according to required standard. Ensure proper housekeeping.
    • Immediately report accident/incident to Control Room and Shift Overseer. Investigating relevant issues. Completion of accident/incident reports. Communicate and/or implement preventative measures. Follow up on implementation of preventative measures.

    Receiving Clerk (B4) (Supply Chain)

    • The successful applicant will report to the Material Controller or nominee.

    MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.
    • Certificate: Storekeeping/Stock Control or relevant Supply chain certificate.
    • Code 08 (B) Driver’s Licence.
    • Forklift Driver’s License

    EXPERIENCE (including but not limited to):

    • 2 year’s Stores / Material Management in a Plant / Mining environment.

    DUTIES (including but not limited to):

    • Coordinate and supervise the issuing and receiving functions of the Stores section as well as housekeeping and preservation of the stock.
    • Effectively solve and report queries related to the Issuing Sections. Generate reports regarding stock levels and un-actioned pick slips.
    • Support the receiving / issuing of the Store section. Monitor the availability of stock items in the stores for the purpose of production needs. Ensure correct storage and handling requirements for spares and equipment according to procedures. Assist in coordinating Receiving /Issuing of stock items according to processes and procedures. Reconcile and update all Issuing documentation. Coordinate cycle counts. Minimize and resolve cycle count variances. Reconcile physical balance with JDE balance for all stock. Ensure effective financial controls are applied.
    • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained.
    • Perform PTO’s and issuebased risk assessments as and when required.
    • Ensure mine-wide availability of fuel.
    • Supervise own team’s activities whilst ensuring safe working practices.
    • Liaise with internal and external customers to ensure good working relationships.
