    Associate Professor: Citizenship Studies (P5)

    Requirements

    • A doctoral degree, NQF level 10 in Humanities and Social Sciences and/or related fields (foreign qualifications to be evaluated by SAQA).
    • Expertise in some of the following areas: Concepts of belonging and identity, statelessness, migration, refugees, global citizenship and SDGs, environmental and ecological citizenship, digital citizenship and cyber ethics, Artificial Intelligence and technological citizenship, Pan African/indigenous citizenship models, social justice and human rights, diversity and intercultural citizenship.

    ACADEMICS

    • A minimum of 4 years’ teaching experience at university level
    • Successful supervision of postgraduate (master’s and/or doctoral) students to completion
    • At least 6 research output units1 during the previous 5 years OR 4 research output units during the previous 3 years
    • Involvement in community engagement, with evidence of how this has been transferred into teaching and learning and/or research
    • Evidence of leadership involvement in departmental, school, college and university committees including task teams and voluntary associations
    • Evidence of contribution in the wider national academic community and learned societies

    APPLICANTS OTHER THAN ACADEMICS

    • A minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience in a research related field
    • At least 4.5 research output units during the previous 5 years OR 2.5 research output units during the previous 3 years
    • Demonstrate potential to participate in community engagement and an understanding of community engagement in terms of teaching and learning and engaged research
    • Evidence of participation in workplace committees or task teams and voluntary associations

    Recommendations:

    • NRF rating will be an added advantage.
    • Experience with teaching in an ODeL environment.
    • Membership with a relevant Professional Body/Association.
    • Evidence of contribution in the national/international wider academic community and learned societies.
    • Demonstrate the ability to secure external grants/funding.

    Call for Ten (10) UNISA Internship

    Stipend : R120 925.00 PA
