    Collections Team Leader D

    Purpose

    • Enables a team of collectors to ensure they achieve quality and productivity targets by leveraging resources and support functions optimally.

    Experience and Qualifications

    • Grade 12
    • NQF5 banking diploma (advantage)
    • English and one other language preferred
    • 2-3 years collections experience
    • Supervisory experience an advantage
    • Legal experience an advantage

    • In accordance with National Credit Act (NCA) candidates applying for this role will require a credit record check.

    Responsibilities

    • Achieve monthly Team targets with specific focus on early arrears, non-performing loans and post write-off recoveries
    • Ensure legal action for non-performance by either customer, executor, surviving spouse or trustees were done by Collectors
    • Leading, coaching and developing teams
    • Ensure performance targets are met
    • Assist with day to day operations and ad hoc projects as required Contributes to overall success of BU deliverables
    • Collect arrears and negotiate acceptable payment arrangements and settlements, in line with mandate, for the teams to meet objectives
    • Develop a service culture which builds rewarding relationships, proposes
    • innovations and allows others to provide exceptional client service
    • Comply with governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements
    • Maximise productivity through optimal utilisation of available resources
    • (including human resources) for the Collection Department of the Bank
    • Carry out collections processes within mandate, meeting SLA targets and quality standards, manage escalations and complaints
    • Plan and manage performance, skills development, talent and culture of team in order to improve innovation and achieve efficiencies
    • Manage own development to increase own competencies

    Deal Maker

    Role Purpose

    To generate and sustain new revenue streams across the banking product suite. Originate and grow market share across the business as well as creating a network to originate new business.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver customer service through adherence to quality service standards
    • Deliver sales targets and grow portfolio under guidance and supervision, by performing end-to-end process of deal origination to deal conclusion through effective engagement and understanding of customer’s business and needs
    • Complete all required administrative services through continuous reporting and updating of documents related to relevant stakeholders
    • Develop, encourage and nurture collaborative relationships across area of specialisation
    • Contribute to teamwork and inclusivity within own team
    • Identify opportunities to expand customer base with potentially profitable customers
    • Ensure development and continuous value add improvement to operational processes
    • Manages risks in own area of responsibility
    • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships
    • Achieve expected financial targets and uphold associated service levels

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Minimum Qualification - Relevant Bcom Degree in Law, Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related
    • Preferred Qualification - Relevant Post Grad Degree
    • Experience - 1 to 3 years relevant experience in support role
    • Additional Knowledge - Good understanding of the respective product and ability to structure deals within that environment (e.g commercial property or wealth and investment, etc.)
    • Understanding of the Bank’s credit policies and lending criteria
    • Ability to interpret financial statements
    • Strong communication skills
    • Knowledge of deal origination
    • Analytical skills with attention to detail
