    Site Planning Manager (East London)

    OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

    • The Site Planning Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the end-to-end planning of the manufacturing operations. This role oversees the strategic, tactical, and operational planning horizons to ensure continuous product availability, optimal inventory levels, and maximum plant utilization. Operating strictly within GMP guidelines, the manager integrates material requirements planning with the master production schedule while factoring in complex constraints within the process (QA release times, equipment validation, product shelf-life, and API lead times.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic & Long-Term Planning (6–24 Months)

    • Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Lead the supply review process within the S&OP cycle, translating commercial demand forecasts into long-term capacity requirements.
    • Capacity Modeling: Evaluate long-term plant capacity against projected demand. Identify future bottlenecks and recommend capital expenditures, shift pattern changes, or outsourcing strategies.
    • Strategic Sourcing Alignment: Collaborate with Procurement to provide long-range forecasts to critical suppliers (e.g., API and primary packaging manufacturers) to secure future allocations.

    Medium-Term Planning (1–6 Months)

    • Master Production Scheduling (MPS): Develop and maintain a rolling master schedule that balances customer service levels with efficient batch campaigning and changeover optimization.
    • Material Requirements Planning (MRP): Oversee the MRP process to ensure raw materials, APIs, and packaging components arrive just-in-time to support the MPS, mitigating supply risks.
    • Inventory Strategy: Define and maintain planning parameters (safety stock, lot sizes, lead times) in the ERP system to optimize working capital while preventing stockouts.

    Short-Term Execution (0–4 Weeks)

    • Detailed Shop-Floor Scheduling: Oversee the translation of the MPS into detailed, sequence-optimized daily shift schedules for dispensing, manufacturing, filling, and packaging lines.
    • Constraint Management: Resolve daily disruptions (e.g., QA holds, machine breakdowns, delayed material deliveries) by team guidance on rapidly re-optimizing the schedule.
    • Cross-Functional Synchronization: Run daily/weekly tier meetings with Production, Quality Assurance (QA), and Quality Control (QC) to align on batch release schedules, testing prioritization, and raw material clearance.

    Leadership & Compliance

    • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of production schedulers and material planners.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all planning activities and system changes comply with cGMP, regulations, and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    Requirements
    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is highly preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • 7+ years in Supply Chain/Planning, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a regulated pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing site.
    • Advanced proficiency in Tier 1 ERP systems (SAP APO/IBP, Oracle, etc.) and Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) software.
    • Deep understanding of cGMP, pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, QA/QC workflows, and shelf-life/expiration management.
    • Strong ability to analyze complex data sets, run scenario models ("what-if" analyses), and translate data into actionable supply chain strategies.
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to manage conflicting priorities between Commercial, Operations, and Quality teams.

    Sourcing Manager (JHB North)

    OBJECTIVE OF ROLE

    • The Sourcing Manager manages the East London factory raw and packing materials ensuring transparency of spending, generating and implementing efficient sourcing and category management strategies. The role is responsible for calculating costs of procurement and suggests methods to decrease expenditure as well as increasing supply reliability of the service/product. 

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supplier Performance

    • Apply strong analytical skills and leverage technology to evaluate and measure vendor performance relative to contract and customer experience.
    • Use data and insights to determine areas for improvement, manage relationships to deliver change and customer experience excellence.
    • Interact with internal cross-functional groups and suppliers to define, coordinate, and deploy improvement activities utilizing project management and operational tools.
    • Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure service level agreements are met or exceeded.
    • Identifies trends poor performing suppliers and then takes action as necessary to improve supplier performance and capability.
    • Drives key stakeholders to define and deliver the corrective action plans ensuring results are achieved and sustainable with a key focus on production improvement.
    • Supports Procurement, Production, Engineering, Quality and other departments in supplier action plan in case of recurring performance deviations, escalade issues until acceptable performance is reached.
    • Prepare and present reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior management.

    Sourcing

    • Lead Sourcing activities from supplier identification to post implementation performance management.
    • Optimise the supply base through consolidation and leverages and negotiates pricing on combined volumes with industry leading suppliers to reduce the cost of goods and overheads.
    • Increase spending under contract and negotiates supply agreements with vendors, improving commercial conditions.
    • Take responsibility for productivity/ cost efficiency targets and key compliance metrics (e.g. process compliance, internal audits).
    • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct supplier assessments, negotiations, and contract management.
    • Analyse market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to drive cost savings and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, engineering, labs, warehousing, and supply chain teams, to understand their requirements and align sourcing activities accordingly.
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost reduction in the sourcing and procurement function.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement sustainable sourcing practices and support corporate social responsibility initiatives.
    • Manage supplier qualifications and on boarding through supplier risk assessment and follow on supplier risk mitigation activities including regular notifications to suppliers regarding their performance.
    • Maintain the enterprise level Approved Supplier List (ASL). Participate and spear head group ESG initiatives for the East London Factory.
    • Identify and propose new suppliers when ASL gaps are identified.

    BBBEE:

    • Implementing and maintaining Inclusive and Responsible Sourcing strategy, policy, procedures, standards and associated reporting.
    • Monitor local and BEE procurement performance and encourage and motivate improvement activities.
    • Ensuring monthly and regular ad hoc BBBEE Procurement reporting is conducted.
    • Ensuring systems are in place and reports are compiled for internal and external use and presentation to management.
    • Provide guidance as it relates to Inclusive Procurement and BBBEE In South Africa.
    • Drive continuous improvement of procurement governance framework.
    • Support in supplier pre-qualification, on-boarding on to supplier database and maintaining the supplier database, updating all missing information

    Requirements
    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    Group Specialist: Manufacturing ERP Solutions (Durban North)

    ROLE PURPOSE

    • Strategic and tactical role in the Digital Technology organisation, accountable for the design, configuration, enablement, support and continuous improvement of Manufacturing ERP solutions to support current and future business needs.
    • In addition to technology components, ERP solution design and delivery encompasses changes to service components, business processes, organisational structures, and operating models. The role provides comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, ERP solution components to ensure alignment with relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards, and practices (including quality and security), and to ensure that existing and planned solution components remain compatible and interoperable.
    • In support of the ERP manufacturing solution ownership model, this role contributes to the end‑to‑end lifecycle management of the Group SAP landscape, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA, in specifically PP, PPDS, PM, QM, EWM and CO modules and associated integrations. The incumbent ensures that platform enhancements, release activities, data integrity controls, and operational performance are executed in line with approved roadmaps, governance standards, and regulatory, audit, and quality expectations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supports the development and execution of Manufacturing ERP solutions integration and build capabilities, including SAP manufacturing related modules, extended functionality, and integrated enterprise systems.
    • Contributes to the development and application of policies, standards, and guidelines for ERP solution configuration, integration, build and support.
    • Ensures ERP build and support activities operate effectively and in accordance with approved architecture, security, and quality standards.
    • Designs and implements ERP solution architectures and configurations for complex requirements, ensuring consistency with agreed functional, technical, and regulatory requirements.
    • Develops and maintains solution components across ERP Manufacturing modules, including configuration, enhancements, and extensions.

    Requirements

    • Business Process Management and delivery methodologies (e.g. BPM, SDLC, ITIL, DevOps, Agile, COBIT)
    • 8 to 10+ years’ experience working with enterprise ERP platforms in a complex organisational environment
    • Proven experience delivering end-to-end solutions and supporting SAP‑based solutions across multiple business domains
    • Strong experience working with internal business customers and cross‑functional teams
    • Experience in implementing and supporting ERP integrations with adjacent platforms (e.g. MES, LIMS)
