    Bosch Projects -Lead Engineer Developments (KZN)

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Managing entire projects and project teams from inception to completion, including client interface.
    • Performing engineering functions efficiently in support of own projects and provide technical support to other projects.
    • Performing a contract administration role on major development projects.
    • Mentoring and motivating project teams.
    • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
    • Taking responsibility for work acquisition and tendering for civil projects.
    • Ensuring compliance with Bosch Projects ISO 9001/2015 QMS Systems.
    • Ensuring that client standards are achieved and maintained.
    • Assisting the KZN Regional Director and Sector Head in planning resource requirements, and in recruiting suitable candidates.

    The ideal candidate should: 

    • Have a BSc / BEng / BTech qualification in Civil Engineering
    • Be registered as a Professional Engineer / Technologist with ECSA (compulsory).
    • Have approximately 15 years post qualification experience of which a minimum of 5 years must have been spent on land / Township development related projects
    • Have experience in managing projects for private sector and municipal clients in the KZN.
    • Have technical and design competence in municipal civil infrastructure, with a bias towards road and bulk earthworks.
    • Have experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and with the Infrastructure Design Automation Suite (iDAS) software package (advantageous).
    • Have experience in administering civil contracts as the Contract Engineer, and management of construction monitoring teams.
    • Be able to assume a design leadership role in civil infrastructure projects.
    • Be capable of functioning independently and as part of a project team.
    • Have the ability to grow client relationships and acquire developments related workload.
    • Have a valid passport and be prepared to travel and work within and outside RSA border.
    • Have a valid driver’s license.

    Bosch Projects – Lead Structural Engineer (KZN)

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITES :

    • Developing, maintaining, enhancing and oversight of structural engineering tools, calculations or software used in the course of the structural engineering activities of the Company.
    • Developing, in consultation with the Divisional Manager a marketing and growth plan for the division, in line with the overall regional budgets and strategic growth targets.
    • Project management including coordinating and optimizing divisional resource utilization to ensure that divisional profit targets are met as well as managing and coordinating all financial aspects of divisional structural projects, including invoicing, forecasting and debtor control.
    • Ensuring that all the Division’s structural projects are undertaken in accordance with the Quality Management System.
    • Promoting growth and advancement of junior staff by mentoring.

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD:

    • Have a BSc / BEng Engineering degree in civil / structural engineering or an appropriate / similar qualification.
    • Be registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA.
    • Have a minimum of 15 years’ appropriate post qualification experience in structural concrete and steelwork designs of multi-level buildings, industrial plants and water retaining structures.
    • Possess a detailed understanding of engineering activities required for consulting, engineering services, EPCM and EPC contracts.
    • Possess a broad understanding of, and have interacted with other design engineering disciplines, i.e. Process, Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, and Electrical.
    • Have strong leadership and management skills in managing projects and teams.
    • Be experienced in the compilation and submission of tenders and proposals for procuring consulting engineering work
    • Have prior experience with the compilation of technical specifications and BOQ’s for the procurement of contractors.
    • Be skilled in networking with potential clients / business partners in both the private and public sectors to secure work outside conventional tender processes.
    • Have personal attributes aligned with the Bosch Way (Values and Culture).
    • Proficient in Prokon software.
    • Good MS Office knowledge with strong MS Excel skills.
    • CAD and 3D modelling skills will be advantages.

    Bosch Projects – Employers Agent Representative – Fixed term

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Construction monitoring of construction activities including the oversight of contractors and ensuring that contractors meet critical project deadlines.
    • Monitoring the Contractor’s progress against the approved programme.
    • Keeping a daily site diary and doing weekly reporting of site activities to the Employer’s Agent(EA) / Engineer.
    • Completion of project administration including payment certificate preparation.
    • Ensuring compliance with the Western Cape Government (WCG) Roads Branch construction monitoring and reporting requirements and thereafter compliance with Bosch Projects ISO 9001/2015 QMS System to ensure successful internal and external audits.
    • Reporting daily to the EA / Engineer on project implementation activities.
    • Referring design changes to the EA / Engineer.
    • Liaison with the Contractor’s Site Agent/Construction Manager with regards to all aspects of the work.
    • Supervision of the EAR Assistants (ARE’s) and Senior Materials Technician in liaising with the relevant service providers to co-ordinate the alteration/relocation of their services.
    • Assisting the EA in compiling minutes of site meetings with the Contractor and Client

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng)
    • 5 Years’ experience in construction monitoring roads projects – (8 to 10 years’ experience preferred)
    • Good knowledge and understanding of General Conditions of Contract, 2015 and experience in preparing responses to contractor claims.
    • Experience on WCG Roads Projects will be an advantage.
    • Good computer skills – MS office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • The ability to function independently and as part of a project team.
    • Being self-driven with a capacity for continuous self – improvement.
    •  A valid driver’s license and own transport.
