    Stock Controller - Cape Town (54400)

    Job Description

    Purpose:

    • To plan, execute, supervise & control all activities connected with the inventory control, effective handling, storage & transportation of all finished goods from the point of arrival through to assembly of orders in correct quantity, time & condition to ensure that the depot operates at maximum efficiency.
    • Liaise closely with the immediate Team Leader, Admin, relevant Head Office Personnel and relevant external parties.
    • The incumbent is responsible for and will continually strive to ensure that only food safe and quality services that meet all applicable standards and requirements (legal, regulatory and client), are supplied with integrity.

    Job Summary:

    Team Leader Finished Goods - Cape Town (54399)

    Job Description

    • KWV a renowned South African brand and industry leader in the production of world-class wines, and other spirits has a permanent vacancy for a Team Leader Finished Goods, based in Paarl, Western Cape.

    Purpose:

    • To lead and supervise a team of warehouse personnel, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of all incoming goods, storage, and dispatch to packaging and production.
    • The role is accountable for maintaining inventory integrity through proper receiving, storing, and delivering of items, while safeguarding the warehouse and overseeing staff performance. 
    • Strict adherence to FIFO principles is required, except when fulfilling export orders. The incumbent is responsible for upholding food safety and quality standards, ensuring that all services consistently comply with legal, regulatory, and client requirements, and are delivered with the highest level of integrity.

    Job Summary:

    • The Team Leader is responsible for ensuring the effective and accurate management of stock, compliance with food safety and quality requirements, and the smooth flow of goods between receiving, storage, production, and dispatch.
    • This includes strict adherence to FEFO principles (except when fulfilling export and local orders), accurate stock capturing, timely plant-to-plant transfers, and maintaining stock integrity through regular cycle counts and monitoring.
    • The role also oversees expired stock management, bin system accuracy, scrapping of bad goods, and post-goods returns, while ensuring production counts and clearances are completed within procedural timelines.
    • The incumbent will drive good housekeeping practices in line with the PRP program, support incident investigations, and ensure inventory counts are conducted as scheduled with all variances reported.
    • In addition, the Team Leader is accountable for cost management, including forklift, temporary labour, and overtime expenses, as well as monthly variance control. The role requires continuous innovation and process improvement, effective regrade management, and keeping CSA documentation updated.
    • A key responsibility includes leading and developing warehouse staff by managing HR processes such as recruitment, training, coaching, performance management, and discipline.
    • The incumbent is expected to maintain strong working relationships with team members, peers, managers, and external stakeholders, ensure regular one-on-one engagements, complete KPAs on time, and foster clear, effective communication across the warehouse team.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 with mathematics preferable
    • Previous FMCG Warehouse experience - 2-3 years.
    • 3-4 years Supervisory experience

    Skills Required:

    • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
    • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

    Purpose:

    • Ensure all white wine-related cellar activities, including MCC, are completed by ensuring the tasks are distributed, executed and performed according to the Company policies and procedures.
    • Ensure all actions are executed in order for the wines to meet the requirements as per wine specifications according to quality, style and price point.

    Job Summary:

    • Participate with Winemakers in the planning of cellar activities.
    • Ensure all Cellar activities are executed according to work procedure and Company policy.

    This is done by ensuring:

    • Follow up on all work orders and ensure completion thereof
    • Samples are submitted
    • Follow up on analysis to ensure SO2's, DO's and CO2's levels are according to the Winemaker guidelines/ specification

    • Adhere to administrative tasks linked to the role e.g. samples and Kronos

    • Knowledge of different quality systems (HACCP, BRC, IPW, Wieta, ISO)
    • Technical knowledge of wine making and machinery
