    Explosive Operator (Mpumalanga - Weilaagte)

    Description
    Duties include; but are not limited to:

    Functional Outputs

    • Packing of final products.
    • General housekeeping.
    • Confirmation of required raw materials. 
    • Compliance to ISO systems.
    • Meet Safety, volume and quality targets. 
    • Operate machinery as per SOP.
    • Take ownership of own development or own training requirements.
    • Complete of log sheets.

    Requirements
    Minimum Requirements and Experience:

    • RFA fitness test.
    • Forklift license is an advantage.
    • 1-2 years’ experience in a production environment.

    Key Competencies Required

    • Good communication skills (proficient in English).
    • Understands customer requirement and ensures product/service meets customer requirements.
    • Be able to work under pressure.
    • Good Communication skills, Planning & Organizing.

    Explosive Operator (Mpumalanga - Leeuwpane)

    Description
    Duties include; but are not limited to:

    • Identify the correct product application.
    • Identify incorrect charging up practice.
    • Conduct blast surveys according to the designed criteria.
    • Demonstrate the charging up and connecting of all ENAEX explosives product.
    • Apply the use of the product as per the product application training.
    • Apply the safe handling, storage and transport of explosives.
    • Investigate misfires or cut offs.
    • Demonstrate the application of EZ Stopper, EZ Drifter,Dual Det, LP Primadet, EZPT Trunkline, Detacord, Zapcord, Expanfo, Explogel, Ermex products.
    • Demonstrate the application of DDS , SDS, SafeBlastamd SafeStart products.
    • Ensure Housekeeping of work area.
    • Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately ( Hirac & Risk Assessment).
    • Comply to the Mine`s safety and health procedures.
    • Attend Mine induction training.
    • Maintain basic safety, health and environment issues.
    • Assess the product application practices.
    • Identify incorrect product application practices.
    • Demonstrate and coach the correct practices.

    Requirements
    Minimum Requirements and Experience:

    • Grade 12.
    • Competent B.
    • Blaster Assistant Skills Programme.
    • Minimum 2 years underground mining experience.

    Operational Excellence Engineer (Mpumalanga - Various Locations)

    Description

    • To conduct Operational Excellence projects and continuously improve organizational processes, systems, and workflows, to optimize business performance and to enhance the company’s operational reputation amongst customers

    Strategic management:

    • To contribute to the organizational strategy by understanding the key strategic drivers and direction and providing input into the strategy annually.
    • To develop the departmental strategy by understanding the business strategy and developing the strategy, presenting and securing approval annually.
    • Departmental / operational planning and management:
    • To develop the departmental operations plan by understanding the strategy, developing the plan including all projects and key performance measures and submitting plans for approval annually and as required. 
    • To report on performance by tracking department performance against targets, identifying progress and areas of concern, drafting reports and submitting quarterly and as required.
    • Policy and procedure (including process and systems) management:
    • To manage the development and implementation of departmental business processes by overseeing process mapping, assessing efficiencies and appropriateness of processes, monitoring compliance, identifying anomalies and implementing corrective action as required.
    • Technical management:
    • To identify opportunities to improve field operations (including but not limited to field employees, raw material stock, site layout, infrastructure etc.) by conducting analysis and evaluation of field operations and costs, gathering data and insights, engaging and collaborating with field operators and leaders, evaluating, reviewing ROI, identifying opportunities, developing recommendations and reporting within deadline.
    • To implement field operations improvement projects by implementing best practice project practices, implementing project tracking and monitoring measures, managing implementation, measuring success/failures, resolving and optimizing as and when possible and required.
    • Budget and financial management:
    • To develop budgets by understanding operational requirements, drafting budget and submitting for approval annually and as required.
    • To manage expenditure by tracking spend against budget, reviewing and approving costs, identifying areas of under- or over-spend and implementing corrective action monthly and as required.
    • Risk management:
    • To manage security and disaster recovery of departmental information by reviewing measures in place, identifying risks and implementing mitigating measures as required.
    • To manage departmental risk by developing the departmental risk management framework, overseeing the population and maintenance of the framework, reviewing risk management strategies, identifying areas for improvement and driving implementation quarterly and as required.  
    • Stakeholder management (including internal, external, client and service provider):
    • To manage stakeholder relationships by liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, providing input and feedback actions, receiving feedback and contributions and collaborating as required.
    • To engage with industry stakeholders by identifying key points of impact and discussion, representing the organization and providing input into industry related initiatives and imperatives, supporting industry related initiatives and addressing any industry related concerns or challenges as required.

    Requirements

    Required qualifications:

    • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.
    • BEng/BSc in related discipline (Mining Engineering/Industrial Engineering).

    Preferred qualifications:

    • BEng/BSc Hons in related discipline (Mining Engineering/Industrial Engineering).

    Required technical or professional experience:

    • 5-7 years within mining or similar operational environment.
    • 3-5 years implementing operational improvement and excellence into operations.

    Required people management experience:

    • 2-3 years management experience.

    Sourcing Specialist Direct Materials (Mpumalanga - Secunda)

    Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

    • Develops new supply sources where vendors are inadequate due to scarcity/spend or risk of supply.
    • Process sourcing needs through inquiry and certification of suppliers that adhere to processes and procedures.
    • Secures direct materials when necessary, based on previously determined schedules or newly created target dates. Working with warehousing and stock control to monitor consumption and reorder points to ensure supply continuity.
    • Complete purchase orders and other related documentation pertaining to procurement of direct materials.
    • Controls documents pertaining to all the direct materials suppliers. Maintain Supplier Map (Supplier data base) as well as investigate new suppliers.
    • To classify direct materials procured in the spot market according to their levels of supply risk.
    • Experience and knowledge in Import and export.
    • Market analysis
    • Developing spot buying plans on a dynamic basis and management of R10m delegation of authority as per purchase order.
    • To balance business drivers and risk in order to maintain 100% plant availability at optimal landed cost possible.
    • Maintains and controls transport costs provision for any order as per negotiated incoterm.
    • Ad hoc visits to supplier base to investigate potential suppliers and conduct negotiations, certification audits and quality quarantine audits. Negotiates with suppliers in the pre-qualifying stage and in routine procurement to obtain best possible price/ value to meet target pricing.
    • Assist production as necessary by expediting raw materials when category management has exhausted all other possibilities.

    Requirements

    • Relevant University Bachelors Degree (Logistic Management/ Procurement and Supply).

    Minimum Experience

    • 6+ relevant years.
