    Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer, Group IT Security

    Job Description 

    • Although our production and financial results are the engine that drives our business, it is the depth of capability in our people that will continue to determine First Quantum’s ongoing success. Reporting to the Identity & Access Management Lead, this role will form an integral part of our Group IT Security function. The IAM Engineer will be responsible for the technical implementation, maintenance, and optimisation of Identity and Access Management solutions across the organisation's Digital footprint.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The IAM Engineer's general accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the below:
    • Implement and configure IAM solutions, including Azure AD/Entra, Active Directory, and Identity Governance platforms to ensure secure and efficient access control for enterprise applications and resources.
    • Design and execute technical integrations for Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor authentication and Identity lifecycle management to enhance security and streamline user authentication processes across the organisation.
    • Perform technical configuration and maintenance of Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) tools.
    • Conduct technical assessments of identity and access systems, identifying security gaps and recommending improvements.
    • Implement and maintain Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions
    • Support the implementation of Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-Enough-Access (JEA) principles.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation for IAM processes and configurations.
    • Troubleshoot complex identity and access-related technical issues.
    • Develop and maintain scripted solutions for identity management.
    • Respond to audit findings and implement remediation measures.
    • Support the implementation of identity-related security policies and standards.
    • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with IT, Security, and Application teams to assess and improve identity and access management solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

    Qualifications: 

    • A Graduate qualification in Information Security, Computer Science, or Engineering is highly regarded.
    • Professional certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Identity Professional, ISC2 CC, CompTIA Security+).

    Experience & Technical Skills Required:

    • 5+ years of hands-on experience in IAM implementation within an Enterprise environment
    • Strong technical proficiency with:
    • Azure AD/Entra Identity
    • Active Directory
    • Saviynt EIC
    • CyberArk
    • Scripting skills (PowerShell)
    • Experience with API integrations for identity management
    • Strong familiarity with SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect
    • Understanding of identity protocols and security frameworks
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements and IAM security best practises
    • Experience with identity lifecycle automation tools

    Integration Engineer

    Job description:

    Purpose of the role:

    • Reporting to the Group Data Analytics Lead, the Integration Engineer will develop a strategy alongside the Integration Architect and partner with delivery teams to design, develop and maintain efficient and high-quality integrations connecting data, applications and third parties that support business processes and customer needs. The Integration Engineer will also monitor and analyse existing integrations to improve their performance and efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Gather and analyse business and customer requirements to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve efficiencies and processes through integration.
    • Design and implement integration flows and enhancements, including APIs and/or file-based integrations.
    • Partner with development and design teams to support and provide oversight in designing and developing integration solutions and prototypes.
    • Determine, conduct, and automate integration tests, load tests, and performance tests, including facilitating set-up of test data and accounts.
    • Prepare and manage technical documentation and self-service resources on integrations.
    • Proactively monitor integration performance and troubleshoot, resolve, and report integration issues to impacted teams and stakeholders.
    • Adhere to established development and integration processes, best practices, and standards.
    • Use user and stakeholder feedback to guide the development of new products and integration enhancements.
    • Participate in integration vendor and tool selection to meet business needs and support development team workflows.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent applied experience)

    Experience & Skills Required:

    • 5 years' experience in software development.
    • 5 years' experience in integration engineering.
    • Strong knowledge of integration design and development processes (e.g. development, testing, debugging).
    • Demonstrable experience in data integration and workflow scripting.
    • Strong proficiency in relevant coding languages (e.g. C#, Scala, Python, SQL).
    • Experience with system integration technologies (e.g. RESTful APIs, SOAP, OAUTH 2.0, event.
    • brokers, data virtualization).
    • Experience with integration platforms (e.g. MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services).

    Data Scientist

    Job description:

    Purpose of the role:

    • First Quantum Minerals is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to leveraging data for informed decision-making and innovation. We are currently seeking an experienced Data Scientist with a minimum of 8 years' experience to join our team.
    • Reporting to the Group Data Analytics Lead, the Data Scientist will partner with business and operational leaders to provide an impact by leveraging data and analytical tools, strategic thinking, and hypothesis-based analysis on machine learning (ML)-based projects. The data scientist will be responsible for modelling complex business problems through statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. Further, they will support senior leadership by creating business insights, reports, and analyses to aid in the decision-making process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Data Value Generation (Data Science)
    • Extract actionable insights and patterns from data using appropriate tools.
    • Perform large-scale experimentation and builds data-driven models to answer business questions.
    • Proactively mines data warehouses to identify trends and patterns and generates insights for business units and senior leadership.
    • Perform large-scale experimentation to identify hidden relationships between variables in large datasets.
    • Research and implement cutting-edge techniques and tools in machine learning/deep learning/artificial intelligence to make data analysis more efficient.
    • Apply statistical analysis and visualization techniques to enrich various data products.
    • Deploy, maintain and improve machine learning models into production environments.
    • Common Data Model Development (Data Product Management).
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align the data model/products with specific business requirements and use cases.
    • Identify and record how data maps from various sources to the common data model schema.
    • Develop data products which address gaps in common data model.
    • Continuously assess and update the common data model to accommodate evolving business needs and data sources.
    • Communicate data model changes and updates to relevant stakeholders and ensuring a smooth transition.
    • Data Adoption and Compliance
    • Evangelise data-driven decision making within the organization.
    • Monitor adoption/compliance of standards and best practices within analytics areas/functions.
    • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure data quality and reliability to boost user confidence and adoption.
    • Monitor and report on key adoption metrics, such as user engagement, data utilization, and user satisfaction.
    • Implement change management practices to facilitate the smooth adoption of new data-related technologies and processes.
    • Provide support to stakeholders encountering issues or challenges in utilizing data resources effectively.
    • Regularly communicating updates, successes, and challenges related to data adoption to the DNA Lead and project stakeholders.

    Qualifications Required:

    • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or a related field.
    • Candidates will ideally have a specialization in ML or AI.

    Experience & Skills Required:

    • A minimum of 8 years' experience in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry roles.
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in data science or data analytics roles.
    • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership and stakeholder engagement roles.
    • Proficiency in data science and machine learning tools and languages (e.g., Python, R, TensorFlow).
    • Knowledge of statistical and data mining techniques such as generalized linear model (GLM)/regression, random forest, etc.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
