    Data Engineer/Analyst

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Biological Sciences, Computational Biology, or similar
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Data Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Reporting
    • Strong programming skills in R, Python, SQL, and PowerQuery (M-code, DAX) are essential
    • Experience with visualization software such as TIBCO Spotfire, PowerBI, or Tableau is advantageous
    • Must be proficient in database design, connections, and optimization of engines
    • Experience with data mining and statistical techniques, including Logistic Regression, Linear Regression, and Decision Trees is essential
    • Experience with cloud-based storage solutions (AWS, Google BigQuery, Azure) and tools for RPA, process mining, and production automation systems is advantageous

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Driving the strategy and implementation of Data-as-an-Asset (DaaA) in the RC Supply Mission.
    • Working in the E2E Mission as part of the Advanced Technology squad for Commercial Seed Production.
    • Operating in a Dynamic Shared Ownership culture, working cross-functionally with peers in SPI-PR, SPI-QT, Finance Controlling, Planning, and Foundation Seed, focusing on improving the Commercial Seed Production DaaA offering and intelligence.
    • Acting as a Data Engineer in the field of Decision Science, creating the technical layer for extracting inferences, insights, and analytics, including ETL processes.
    • Architecting a DataLake from various data sources and integrating it into Global systems and squads in this area.
    • Consolidating, summarizing, and analyzing production data to drive critical processes such as Production Research data with area and field analysis, production plant comparisons to labs and research, and cost analysis of processes using data and KPIs automated from the DataLake.
    • Performing data statistical analysis and visualizing data using data visualization tools.
    • Building and validating dashboards with preferred visualization software.
    • Mining process data from IT systems and databases.
    • Extracting actionable insights from raw, structured, and unstructured data.
    • Delivering on the future vision and strategy for optimized usage of data assets, including ML, AI, and outcome prediction.
    • Ensuring compliance with the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System.
    • Participating in compiling Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analysis and ensuring compliance.
    • Actively recording safety observations and near misses.
    • Participating in 5WHY problem-solving, identifying corrective and preventative actions.
    • Adhering to all applicable legislation, safety policies, and procedures.
    • Meeting the requirements of legal appointments.
    • Actively promoting the company’s safety culture and best practices.

    Accountant/Accounting clerk

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a relevant tertiary qualification with SAIPA accreditation (For the Accountant)
    • Must be proficient in preparing and signing off farming financial statements
    • Comprehensive knowledge of SARS submissions and processes is essential
    • Practical experience with Pastel Accounting is required
    • Experience with U-filing, knowledge of CIPC submissions and processes, and familiarity with Sage One accounting software are advantageous
    • Advanced Excel skills are a must
    • General proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook, is important

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Preparing and finalizing financial statements for farming businesses.
    • Submitting all required SARS filings.
    • Utilizing Pastel, Advanced Excel, and Microsoft Office to execute accounting functions.
    • Processing bank and transaction entries up to the trial balance stage.
    • Managing VAT processing and SARS submissions.
    • Handling U-filing and CIPC submissions.
    • Addressing SARS inquiries and submissions.
    • Providing administrative support and maintaining client liaison.
    • Performing day-to-day tasks using Microsoft Office and Pastel Accounting.

    Product Development Specialist

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture or Natural Sciences; a post-graduate qualification is advantageous
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in agrochemical product development and/or regulatory department
    • Must hold a CropLife Basic Crop Protection Certificate
    • SACNASP accreditation is advantageous
    • Must have working knowledge of GHS Labelling requirements
    • Comprehensive understanding of product registration requirements and processes, with above-average knowledge of crops, crop protection (biological), crop nutrition, and the general crop protection environment
    • Technical project management experience is required
    • Must have an understanding of statistical methods and the management of trial data on the ARM platform
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy in planning projects and managing trial data
    • Must be self-motivated and driven to find solutions in executing development projects within set budgets and timelines
    • Creativity and flexibility are required in addressing challenges during project execution and contributing to data dossiers
    • Must be able to work independently, under pressure, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and meticulous precision, particularly in written tasks
    • Proven ability to prioritize, re-prioritize, and manage all development-related activities within set timelines
    • Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel when required

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Planning, implementing, and managing the R & D trial program for designated crops and products of the portfolio in line with product strategies and project scopes, as agreed with the relevant local and global Product Managers.
    • Co-ordinating, managing, and liaising with CROs for the timely execution of projects in accordance with timelines and budgets, ensuring accuracy of implementation and data generation, as well as concurrent report generation and reporting.
    • Analyzing trial results (via ARM) and drafting summaries to demonstrate trial objectives and proposing amendments for further development work, to ensure that project objectives are being achieved. On completion of projects, contributing to highly accurate, comprehensive yet concise registration dossiers to demonstrate that efficacy, selectivity, and residue data are complying with regulations and meeting claims in support of intended commercial use.
    • Participating in local, regional, and global portfolio meetings by providing accurate updates on technical trial results and sharing technical expertise to ensure that product development is remaining relevant to market needs, while ensuring product positioning is optimal within the portfolio and in the context of global trends.
    • Maintaining accurate updates to project management, budget tracking, and regulatory tracking platforms to maintain data integrity and transparency.
    • Liaising with and participating in industry body organization committees, forums, and/or meetings to gain information and contacts on industry trends and knowledge transfer that may have strategic importance to the role and the company.
    • Regularly visiting trial sites to ensure trial progress is going according to plan and set timelines.
