    Technical Manager: Steel Structures

    About the job

    • Leader in the provisioning of grain storage and handling equipment seeks to employ a Technical Manager with sound knowledge of structural and electrical engineering. Based in Honeydew, Johannesburg.

    For the position you would be required to have: 

    • B. Tech/B. Sc/B. Eng in Mechanical Engineering
    • Sound knowledge of structural engineering and steel structures
    • Knowledge/experience of Electrical Engineering, project management, sub-contractor management and construction management
    • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
    • Staff management experience

    Responsibilities would include you to: 

    • Develop methodologies, policies and procedures to improve the technical aspect of projects, leading to value add to the client and cost savings and efficiencies to the company.
    • Develop strategies and policies regarding the appointment, development and retention of installation crews.
    • Plan resources required to execute the tasks of the technical department.
    • Regularly join technical staff members on trips to customers, monitor and mentor them and provide assistance to them where required.
    • Appoint, monitor, guide and assist sub-contractors in the installation of equipment
    • Instruct, review and approve technical drawings and designs 
    • Promote the product- and service offering of the company
    • Resolve escalated customer issues and customer complaints regarding technical aspects.
    • Continuously assess the technical methods of the company and investigate innovative and improved methods of installation, part design and technical matters.
    • Review quotes provided to customers for accuracy and completeness and ensure sufficient provision are made to install the equipment according to company standards.
    • Monitor actual expenditure against planned installation cost. Investigate overspent and implement procedures to avoid future additional expenditure.
    • Assist with the preparation of budgets, monitor and measure costs against budgets and implement cost saving initiatives in the technical department.
    • Keep and maintain all records and documents related to the Business and report regularly
    • Comply with the health and safety laws, regulations, standards and procedures of the Company and customers.

    Additional Information:

    • Salary around R65k/mth + petrol card + cell + excellent performance bonus incentive
    • Regular travel inside SA
    • 18 days leave

    SAP (PP/IPPE) Consultant

    Requirements:

    • Completed studies in the field of computer science/information systems/ Business or engineering with a focus on IT
    • Seniority in SAP PP, if possible IPPE with outstanding track records in industry
    • Understands and appreciates SAP offerings and product capabilities
    • High level of team spirit, communication skills, as well as ownership
    • Interest in small and big-sized companies and automotive processes

    Knowledge and Certifications:

    • Seniority and optionally certified in SAP (ECC 6.x or S4) production modules:
    • SAP PP
    • SAP PP IPPE
    • English (both verbally and written)

    Responsibilities: 

    • As an SAP Consultant you would be responsible for providing services, as is done in Germany, with concepts and content for their South African clients, as well as their existing international client base with the following: 
    • Application Lifecycle Management for existing SAP PP/ IPPE System for a multi-national client within the automotive sector 
    • First contact person to their client and our clients’ management with responsibility for project results including quality of deliverables, client satisfaction and timelines
    • Define scope for process area team according to overall project goals and milestones and based on SAP release management
    • Identification and discussion of best practices within multiple plants. Process Consulting to Business Unit for new/ enhancements to processes.
    • Support on creation of Business Blueprint documents together with Consultants and Business Unit based on SAP documentation method.
    • Identify, address and manage integration scenarios with partnering system(s)
    • Enables process area team with SAP system process
    • Ensure knowledge transfer to Local IT and other relevant project partners as well as training of defined IT resources to enable project execution and line operation
    • Conduct System Integration Test for process area team and Ensure integration to overall SAP ecosystem
    • Define cutover scenario and conduct cutover (if necessary)
    • Ensure adherence to overall SAP Development guidelines
