    Electro Mechanic - Cape Town CBD

    Repairs and Services

    • Assisting with repairs and maintenance of the Generators, Trucks and Vehicles in accordance with the scheduled services.
    • Loading test Generators on a load bank prior to gear checks.
    • Maintaining records of all load bank testing done for insurance purposes.

    Quality Control

    • Maintaining service records and ensuring that the various components of the generators are replaced.
    • Checking the Generator Operators generator check lists for any inconsistencies and ensuring the the check lists are being completed in line with the required procedures and standards.
    • Ensuring that any inconsistencies are escalated to the Supervisor: On-Set Supervisor for further investigation.
    • Ensuring all Generator Operators are trained and set ready. Conducting refresher courses with the generator operators when and if required.

    Stakeholder Liaison

    • Assisting the Supervisor: On Set with scheduling generators to productions while ensuring that the correct capacities are allocated to the production.

    Requirements

    • A National Senior Certiicate
    • A National Diploma within Engineering / Mechanics - Recommended
    • A minimum of 4 years experience within a Mechanic workshop - Essential
    • A minimum of 2 years experience within Generator operations - Recommended

    Inventory Movement

    • Ensuring that gear is identifiable, barcoded and identification tags are legible.
    • Pulling the correct assets according to the picking lists.  
    • Ensuring that gear being received is identified and logged on the picking list.
    • Identifying, communicating and resolving any asset shortages and escalating concerns to the Supervisor: Store and Engineering.

    Dispatching and Receiving

    • Ensuring that gear being dispatched is in good working order.
    • Ensuring that picking lists and any other documentation are completed and signed off after the gear check is completed.
    • Assisting with loading gear in vehicles, when and if required.
    • Ensuring that when gear is received it is in good working order and that the dispatched kits are complete as per the dispatch check sheets.
    • Escalating issues with returned equipment to the relevant Departments and/or Supervisors.
    • Notifying Supervisor of any damages or discrepancies and/or missing equipment once gear is received.
    • Following the established missing and damages procedures, when and if required.

    Stock Taking

    • Assisting with Company stock take.
