    Digital Applications Lead - JHB North

    Description

    • The incumbent would be required to identify, implement and maintain software solutions to optimise business operations.

    Interpersonal and team relationships

    Application and Collaboration

    • Working as a key part of the digital team to ensure that applications are deployed efficiently within the business and in line with the organisation’s digital strategy.
    • Providing technical expertise in the development of new and existing applications.
    • Assessing the requirements of new workflows and determine whether these are required.
    • Liaising with vendors on issues pertaining to routine and adhoc maintenance, technical support and development.
    • Seeking, understanding, and translating business operational process needs into improvement specifications or new application development.
    • Liaising with other members of the digital applications team to ensure that interfaces with other applications and third-party products work.
    • Liaising with vendors and internal technical teams to ensure that existing applications are optimised to meet business needs.
    • Collaborating with vendors and internal technical teams to implement new applications or new modules within existing applications.
    • Identifying suitable new and emerging technologies, developing business cases and coordinating proof of concepts.

    Project Management

    • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal departments and clients at all levels to understand their business drivers and requirements to deliver technical solutions.
    • Delivering outputs set by the digital management team to acceptable time, quality and cost.
    • Serving as project lead for business application projects and implementations
    • Ensuring that all measures are taken for successful delivery.
    • Assuming responsibility for project budgets and for ensuring that expenditure and resources are tracked throughout and remain within project tolerance.
    • Accurately assessing when to escalate project issues to the stakeholders and digital management team.

    Specialized Support

    • Providing specialized technical / professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives.
    • Providing and serving as support lead and provide first class support services to satisfy the needs of our customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Resolving any support queries and liaising with internal teams and third parties to ensure the prompt resolution of all requests.
    • Providing support outside core hours for extended support during project implementations when required and/or if by the business.

    Data Integrity Control

    • Obtaining, checking and refining information.
    • Collating and submitting reports.
    • Running data exception reports and take corrective action.
    • Conducting document control spot-checks.

    Testing and Deployment

    • Managing change control for all business applications
    • Ensuring thorough System/UAT testing is performed prior to a full and controlled release.

    Documentation and Training

    • Ensure all project changes are fully documented and the relevant stakeholders are trained.

    Developing and maintaining system documentation and procedures that include:

    • Application Support Procedures
    • System and Technical Configuration Documentation
    • User Training for new systems

    Organise regular meetings with system users to maintain a working awareness of their service operations.

    Maintenance and Disaster Recovery

    • Managing and developing data integrity and security standards for the systems, co-coordinating requests for access within agreed parameters.
    • Managing and planning a schedule for the safe introduction of new releases/patches to meet service requirements.
    • Overseeing backup and disaster recovery for digital applications.
    • Ensuring and monitoring system uptime for digital applications and to escalate and resolve critical system issues.

    Reporter: Durban

    • The incumbent would be required to report on news stories of the day through, live content and packages.

    • Conducting preliminary telephonic interviews.

    Writing Scripts

    • Writing scripts in line with visuals.
    • Transcribing and summarizing events for further news purposes.
    • Providing time coded short list with all scripts for Sub-Editors.
    • Checking facts with relevant stakeholders to ensure that stories are accurate and unbiased.
    • Deliver a well-researched story including a video that has unique angles for eNCA`s online audience.

    Reporting

    • Updating and maintaining a strong contact base for story ideas.
    • Knowledge of current local, national and international news.
    • Traveling to events and ensuring the proper maintenance, security, and care of recording equipment.
    • Working collaboratively with Cameramen and other members of a reporting team.
    • Attending and reporting on events that are of interest to the public.

    Logistics Coordinator - JHB North

    Description

    • The incumbent would be required to coordinate all live crossings for the various programmes as well as the flow of feeds between regions.  To manage the workflow of Video Editors and ensure all material is available on dalet.

    Key Performance Areas:
