PURPOSE

• Assist operations where an operator is needed to make the operating environment safer and more convenient by opening trenches and cleaning up areas where other equipment have difficulty operating .
• RESPONSIBILITIES
• Operations & Maintenance
• Operation of a variety of machines.
• Load, dig, clean trenches or ditch slimes dam.
• Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) is followed at all times.
• General Housekeeping.
• Inspection of the machine before & after the shift.
• Complete inspection checklist.
• Adhere to safety rules & procedures.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12.
• MQA Accredited certificates (Grader, ADT, Excavator & FEL).
• Code 10 driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 4 years' operating experience in a tailings or similar environment.

• Verbal communication.
• Understand what constitutes unsafe conditions and behaviour.

Description

• This role exists to ensure the accurate calculation of dimensions, elevations, shapes, and contours of sites by assisting the surveyor

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contract Administration and Reporting
• Assist in the preparation of assessment /evaluation reports and attend meetings as required by site management
• Research project drawings, documents, specifications and BOQ
• Maintains field data records, survey project files, drawing
• Register and project take-off records
• Prepare all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
• Acquire and maintain registration with the South African Geomatics Institute
• Instrumentation Knowledge
• Trimble RTK GPS
• Trimble Access software
• Trimble Robotic Total station
• Digital level
• Capture, Review & Resolve
• Interpreting construction drawings
• Setting out of works
• Measuring as build data and maintaining records
• Establish control networks and perform least square adjustments

• AutoCAD
• MS Office

Requirements
QUALIFICATION

• Degree or B.Tech in Surveying
• SAGC (PLATO) registration would be advantageous

EXPERIENCE

• 2-5 years’ experience in Surveying

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must pass the mine’s criminal screening process
• This position is based at the tailings site, however there may be times when travel to regions or sites where Fraser Alexander operates is necessary
• Hours are based on production team hours (site hours), physical, mental and medically fit
