    Quality Assurance Technician - Isithebe

    Key Duties and Responsibilities    

    • To ensure that all products are manufactured to the highest standards of quality at every stage of production.
    • To maintain the Quality Management System at all times and isolate non-conformances.
    • To approve products at set up stage and during production as per job cards, artwork, master samples and customer supplied samples.
    • To maintain minimal downtime during the approval process
    • To create and renew product master samples at various stages of production at the first run and when revisions have taken place.
    • To extract all quality record books and sheets for filing.
    • Controlling of non-conforming products by identifying and isolating non-conforming products from receipt of raw material, during production processes and through to the finished product.
    • To test products in the Laboratory and on production floor at every stage.
    • To retain history samples which are representative of the production run
    • To comply with all ITB’s policies and procedures including but not limited to Health & Safety, General Workplace policies, Quality & Food packaging safety, standard operating procedure etc.

    Educational Requirements    

    • Have completed Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.

    Experience Requirements    

    • Have a knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality standards.
    • Have at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • At least 1-year experience as Quality Technician.

    Skills and Competencies    

    • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Be Computer literate
    • Be able to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and pay attention to detail
    • Be able to read speak and write English
    • Willingness and ability to work shifts and weekend overtime where required.
    • Ability to make own decisions in line with the company and customers’ requirements.

    Guillotine Operator - Cape Town

    Key Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Read work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions
    • Operate the guillotine machine following the correct standard operating procedures
    • Set up and operate machines that perform trimming on printing jobs
    • Check that quantities and size of the job are as required during the guillotine operations
    • Install and adjust machines devices i.e knives.
    • To cut and trim reams of paper and trim printed material to given size for further processing
    • Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and/or adjustments
    • Ensure quality control checklists are completed and kept up to date
    • Meet specific job specifications and quality standards
    • Maintain daily production records
    • Basic preventative maintenance
    • Maintain general health and safety standards in the production environment
    • Adhoc general assistance on all machines
    • Adhering to all health and safety requirements

    Educational Requirements    

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent 
    • Guillotine Certification will be advantageous 

    Experience Requirements    

    • 1 - 2 years Guillotine working experience

    • Possess the ability to follow instructions
    • Computer Literacy
    • Effective judgement and decision-making skills.
    • Effective communication skills.
    • Attention to detail

    Platemaker - Cape Town

    Key Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Responsible for Kodak Insite, Pre-Flight, Kodak Prinergy, Proofs, File back-up etc. 
    • Complete relevant checklists to ensure that the jobs conform to required quality standards.
    • Conduct maintenance on relevant equipment i.e. image setter, process gum units.
    • Ensure that stock levels of plates, chemicals etc., are maintained.
    • Liaise with internal and external clients to ensure that customer standards are met.
    • Accurately record and log all production details on the relevant programs as required.

    Educational Requirements    

    • Grade 12

    Experience Requirements    

    • 1-3 Years work experience in a similar role in an FMCG Pre-Press environment.
    • Knowledge of all aspects of Electronic Pre-press, platemaking including digital file formats and Prinergy workflow would be advantageous.
    • Software knowledge: Pitstop, Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator and data programming would be advantageous.

    • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
