    Specialist: Estate Administrator: Retail Affluent

    Outputs / Core Tasks:

    Human Capital Data Analyst

    What will you do?

    • The incumbent is expected to provide insightful reports, analytics and planning recommendations from various data sources, and enable the Senior HCstakeholders in making data driven decisions and insights around the people strategy and outputs. We are looking for an individual with experience in using a variety of data tools, analysis methods and machine learning algorithms to build and implement predictive models with demonstrable business impact.

    • Experience must involve 2 years in the following: ML and data science knowledge to define the next key features for the solution; build features architected for speed and distributed computing; Research, prototyping and development in the big data, machine learning and data science domain and machine-learning frameworks.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SuccessFactors embedded reporting, advanced analytics and planning.

    Financial Adviser - 3Sixty Bluestar

    What will you do?

    • The purpose of the role is to provide new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning and products (sales) that are suited to their needs and requirements. Undertake the procurement of sustainable business of a high quality, in accordance with the business targets set. Maintain and service these clients as part of a long- term relationship which builds loyalty to the brand and generates ongoing advice and sales.     • Provide sound personal financial planning advice.
    • Apply financial knowledge in putting together a plan that meets the needs of the client for a balanced portfolio.
    • Present financial solutions to the client in a professional and competent manner aligned to Treating Customers Fairly.
    • Use relevant processes and system tools to capture analysis information and update records accordingly.
    • Review client’s portfolio annually by undertaking the above steps.

    Client Service

    • Ensure all client interactions are ethical, courteous and professional.
    • Follow-up or refer all existing business queries to be resolved timeously through ‘back-office’ support.
    • Strive for excellent, value-added service to clients so that they do not seek competitor products or services.
    • Undertake continuous learning in terms of knowledge, skills and market/industry issues so as to service clients within the defined market.

    Qualification and Experience

If a potential candidate has not completed Class of Business they are still deemed to be under supervision and cannot be appointed as a Branch Manager.

    Development Manager (Khula)

    What will you do? 

    • This role is responsible for the direct coaching, vesting, developing, supervising and performance managing of a portfolio of newly appointed financial advisers for the first 24 months (the vesting and development period) of their employ ensuring they are retained, competent and productive as quickly as possible.

    Specialist Accountant: Group Financial Reporting

    What will you do?

    • Responsible for monthly management reporting and preparation of statutory financial information of Sanlam group and companies. Applies principles of accounting to analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger, documenting business transactions and prepare financial reports. Will have supervisory and client relationship responsibilities.

    Management reporting duties:

    • Preparing monthly management reporting to Sanlam Limited EXCO.
    • Assist in preparing annual Group budget.
    • Interim and annual reporting:  Preparation and/or co-ordinating of the Shareholders Information section
    • Trial balance controls/Reconciliation accounts
    • Support IFRS 17 implementation for management reporting 

    Statutory reporting duties:

    Preparation and coordinating of reports in respect of the interim and annual reporting periods (not limited to annual financial statements only):

    • Preparation of other subsidiary financial statements and management of audit process.
    • Technical accounting related project and initiatives involvement and implementation (could include all aspects of project management)

    • IFRS 17 implementation (including system specifications and testing, transition disclosures etc.). This will include support to the management information team and not limited to IFRS reporting
    • Maintaining of a high level of technical competence in the areas of IFRS
    • Other JSE related reporting requirements:  Completion of checklists, SENS announcement, Summarised results, advertisements (but not limited to). 

    Other functions:

    • Review of the valuation of unlisted investments (portfolio and strategic) for submission to committee/board approval
    • Updating of various group reporting timetables and key deliverables
    • Documenting guidelines, processes and procedures where appropriate
    • Audit liaison during interim and year end reporting periods
    • Functional and user acceptance testing of all relevant systems as and when required
    • All other ad hoc tasks that may be required from time to time

    Qualification and Experience

    • Qualified accountant (CA (SA))
    • 2-4 years (minimum) in an accounting/financial environment
    • Similar relevant experience in the insurance/financial industry 
    • Experience in using Sanlam’s financial reporting systems (SAP/Hyperion Financial Management) will be to your advantage
    • Well informed about or proficient in the use of modern technology and digital solutions
    • Specialist Knowledge (preferably insurance industry):  Understands technical or professional aspects of work and continually maintains technical knowledge (eg IFRS)
