    Copy Editor - Midrand

    The Position:

    • To copy edit, fact-check and source-check all nationally set documents and academic content to ensure that quality, consistency and standardization of the final product is maintained from a language perspective.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum qualification:

    • Post graduate qualification in English or similar field 
    • A Master’s degree is preferable

    Experience:

    • At least one to three years’ experience in a copy editor role
    • Exposure to a language-based role in academia will be advantageous

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Responsibilities:

    • As a Copy Editor you will be primarily responsible for the following:
    • Update style guide and academic templates
    • Training and coaching of content developers on copy editing process and templates
    • Format documents
    • Copy edit learning materials and assessments
    • Conduct fact-checking

    Content Writer (Broadcasting Journalism) - Johannesburg

    The Position:

    • To develop course material, including module guides, study manuals, video content and assessments and ingest (where needed) on a part-time basis for Eduvos.

    Minimum Requirements    
    Minimum Qaulification:

    • A qualification in the relevant field of Media Studies, Communication, Broadcasting

    Minium Experience:

    • At least three years’ experience of lecturing and / or developing study materials for Higher Education
    • Publishing of academic journals will be advantageous

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    As a Content Writer, you would be responsible for the following:

    • Develop new learning material for students (study material and assessments), in collaboration with subject matter experts within the faculty by way of establishing communities of practice:
    • Follow development guidelines
    • Develop material to program specifications and Eduvos brand
    • Review material with moderator for quality assurance
    • Submit developed material for Copy Editing via the approved process
    • Upload / release material in required format to relevant platform
    • Review and update learning material and assessments
    • Resolve content related queries
    • Ingesting of module content where needed

    Academic Programme Convenor - Johannesburg

    The Position:

    • To manage the day-to-day delivery of lecturing of IT qualifications. 

    Minimum qualification:

    •  Honours degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computing, or IT related  
    •  Relevant Masters degree will be preferable

    Experience:

    •  At least five years’ experience as a lecturer in the higher education industry 
    •  At least two years’ experience in educational management and leadership

    • Accountability areas – operating / financial results accountable for:
    • Accountable for the operational delivery of lecturing related to Information Technology programmes across campuses and offerings (lecturer performance)   
    • Accountable for the performance of the community of practice and alignment with development hub
    • Operational process outputs:
    • Qualification related subject matter expertise
    • Fulfil the role of lecturer (ad hoc if required) – but the main focus of the role is to manage academic delivery / managing the lecturers

    Management:

    • Budgets
    • Input into academic budget  
    • SCA claims processing
    • Operational planning e.g., programme implementation planning and training (per mode of delivery) incl. sequence, prerequisites, etc. (academic planner)
    • Monitoring, control, corrective action
    • Reporting – regular feedback as per program manager requirements and Head of Programmes
    • Escalations / Decisions / Problem solving – 1st point of contact for student complaints
    • Resourcing and capacity management (people; equipment)

    Leadership:

    • Assistance with talent acquisition, selection and onboarding 
    • Individual performance management - role clarity and objectives; reviews; feedback; corrective actions
    • Culture and climate and change

    Functional and Behavioural Competencies    
    Functional competencies:

    • Computer literacy – well developed MS Office skills 
    • Working knowledge of learning systems (LMS)
    • Good understanding of qualification frameworks and academic processes and governance structures
