    Senior Specialist, Energy

    PURPOSE:
    To assist in integrating energy management across the Group in line with its operating model.
    To ensure that sound energy management practices are applied across all operations and projects.
    To ensure delivery of high-level expert technical support and direction to contribute effectively to business energy management and compliance.

    Minimum Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS:
     BEng (Hons) Electrical Engineering (Essential/Minimum or)
     BSc (Hons) Environmental Management (Essential/Minimum or)
     B Engineering (Hons) (Essential/Minimum)
     Certificate Project Management (Essential/Minimum)
     Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
     Gov Cert of Competence: Engineering (Recommended/Desirable)

    EXPERIENCE: 

    8-10 years All-encompassing exposure and experience in energy management and providing inputs on existing and new energy management or efficiency projects. Formulating effective energy management plans for the group, problem solving and optimisation and risk management. Identifying and evaluating viable options to reduce the group’s energy consumption. Operational exposure to energy management, preferably in a mining environment.  (Essential/Minimum)   Management

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Compliance, Governance and Assurance    

    •  Adhere to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and comply with company specific Safety Health and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures and other legal requirements
    •  Assist in assurance reviews on energy management
    •  Technical compliance to governance in terms of energy management
    •  Ensure compliance to South African National (SANS) standards and regulations

    Functional Excellence    

    •  Assist to develop and maintain energy functional policies, standards, guidelines, procedures, end-to-end processes, tools, and templates etc. Enforce group-wide adherence to these.
    •  Standardise, simplify and speed-up functional processes and eliminate duplication/bureaucracy
    •  Develop and apply functional best practices and promote sharing of best practices/knowledge
    •  Drive and execute functional excellence initiatives
    •  Oversee and monitor functional activities at operations
    •  Establish functional/cross-functional forums, Communities of Practice (COPs) etc. to ensure functional alignment.
    •  Identify and manage critical functional risks through appropriate mitigation plans/actions.

    Functional Management    

    •  Financial management: Assist to prepare/manage function’s budget for energy management.
    •  Strategic alignment/planning: Assist to set functional direction, develop functional strategic plan aligned to and driving vision/purpose, strategy, goals, and priorities, including aligning functional work/resources. Assist to establish measurable functional targets from Group targets. Define and reinforce the link between Group, functional, operational goals and individual outputs, measures, and rewards.
    •  Performance management: Implement functional responsibilities through disciplined execution processes, track implementation and provide feedback to functional leadership. Coordinate functional/cross- functional activities to ensure strategic alignment.
    •  Set and maintain high performance standards. Track and drive functional targets/goals.
    •  Continuous improvement and functional change: Identify, advocate for and lead functional improvement and change. Create a culture of continuous improvement and change agility in function.
    •  Engagement/communication: Communicate and engage functional employees. Engage with executives, operations and cross-functionally with peers. Represent the function/the Company externally as required.

    •  Drive energy management knowledge sharing across business units and projects - community of practices and work groups (lessons learned and best practices)
    •  Facilitate community of practice/work group training sessions for energy professionals at the Business Units

    •  Recommend new energy management technologies that could be adopted from a group perspective.
    •  Manage energy management audits where required
    •  Establish and maintain an energy management internal and external resource network
    •  Represent Exxaro when required with external stakeholders for energy management work (government, industry, and other key stakeholder forums)
    •  Assist to create, maintain, evaluate, and implement energy management standards
    •  Act as the "intelligent buyer" of outside competencies, skills, and technology to fulfill required deliverables when required.
    •  Provide energy management support to Business Units and projects

    Senior Specialist, Cyber Security

    PURPOSE:

    • To lead and oversee the development, implementation, and management of robust cybersecurity strategies to safeguard our organization's digital assets.

Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, etc Strong understanding of networking protocols, operating systems, and cloud environments. Experience in developing and implementing cybersecurity policies and procedures.

    Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in leading and managing cybersecurity projects. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
