    ZAF-H4EM Inspector, Torque

    ROLE SUMMARY

    Ford is looking for a competent torque surveillance inspector responsible for Data collection of rotationally, secured fasteners (Torque) in an assembly plant (T.C.F and Bodyshop) the inspector will be the part of the torque control program as per global standard for VOPFAG-241 Torque integrity Assurance Programmer for Assembly Plants.

    POSITION DETAILS

    • Liaise with Torque Technician on T.C.F and Bodyshop torque concerns – out of control situations.
    • Raise Torque Concern Notices (TCN'S) per VOPFAG 241 procedure.
    • Conduct TPPS studies with TPPS technician.
    • Assist torque technician with containment on campaign and repairs caused by Torque tools.
    • Communicate and escalate all joints that are out specification.
    • Support Launch / VOME team for joint Verifications.
    • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and operated properly and safe.
    • Adhere to safety requirements. 
    • Always maintain good PPE practices.

    PERFORMANCE MEASURES/ SUCCESS CRITERIA

    • Excellent Communication Skills, verbal and written.
    • PC literacy, MS Office Excel, Word.
    • Ability to do fault finding equipment and work on your own. 
    • Tooling and toolbox knowledge.

    Engineering Specialist - Contr

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This position is for an engineering controls specialist with an emphasis on robotic controls & PLC specialization.
    The responsible person will be required to develop, implement, monitor and maintain efficient automation controls processes.
    To specialize in the continuous improvement, troubleshooting and programming of PLC’s/ Robots/Cobot as well as other automation equipment.

    POSITION DETAILS

    • Well versed in ISO 9000 / ISO 14000 / TS 16949.
    • Initiates measures to improve equipment performance, methods and quality.
    • Manage all software and hardware installed on different types of equipment. 
    • Ensure minimal downtimes, proper documentation, software backups and version control.
    • Robot programming, fault finding design changes. 
    • Continuous robotic improvement of weld quality, sealer quality and location accuracy.
    • Reporting / presenting and escalate to management as needed.
    • Responsible for preventive maintenance updates on the robots and related equipment.
    • Optimization of preventive maintenance jobs based on break down analysis and findings.
    • To lead, set up and participate in cross-functional team meetings.
    • The propensity to take the lead in any breakdown situation.
    • Design, fault find and program using PLCs, HMI and SCADA.
    • Ability to read blueprints, AutoCAD, E-Plan, interpret and modify electrical schematics.
    • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
    • Must be prepared to work shifts, and overtime as required.
    • Train and develop training documentation for maintenance personnel.

    • Improve TCF equipment uptime using data analysis and preventative maintenance planning
    • Undertake root cause analysis and to implement Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA’s).
    • Management of TCF constraints with the use of FIS, Scada reporting and monitoring technology.
    • Develop and implement activities to improve MTTR and MTBF.
    • Take responsibility for investigating and introducing new engineering technologies and strategies.
    • Ensure compliance and adherence for Health Charts.
    • Lead a team of Technicians.

    • SEW, Danfoss, Siemens drives working knowledge. 
    • Proficient in Automation networks including Ethernet, Profinet, Profibus and Wireless Networks. 
    • Fault-finding and continuous improvement execution and implementation.
    • HMI’s – Adroit, Win CC Scada fault finding and programming skill.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • N3 with a Trade Qualification in Engineering Mechatronics, Millwright, Electrical ,Mechanical. 
    • 3 Years’ experience in Automotive Manufacturing & Assembly.
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
    • Knowledge of constraint management principles.
    • Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook).
