    T&W Plant Operations Director for South Africa

    In this exciting role, you will be responsible for -  

    Safeguard the sustainability of the site: 

    • Ensure safe and environmentally responsible operations per Givaudan requirements and international best practices. 
    • Safeguard the assets under the responsibility.

    Enhanced customer experience:  

    • Ensure service levels and reliability of deliveries according to customer requirements and agreed service grid. 
    • Engage teams for customer service improvements and liaise with commercial functions to define programmes to improve service and reduce quality complaints.

    Promote operational performance: 

    • Implement initiatives and drive continuous improvement to achieve performance objectives and reduce cost/kg. 
    • Maintain assets under the responsibility to improve asset performance and reliability. 
    • Implement programs to reduce working capital.

    Operations strategy and business planning: 

    • Develop and execute the site master plan, 5-year development plan, budget, and annual tactical plan based on operations and business strategy. 
    • Develop and approve departmental business plans and budgets.

    People management and development: 

    • Create a positive working environment through sound leadership. 
    • Manage and enrich the talent pool, including performance management, individual development, mentoring succession planning, career mapping, and gap analysis.

    Promote key projects: 

    • Lead LEAN initiatives for the whole site. 
    • Responsible for the proper roll-out of the supply chain, quality, and manufacturing excellence initiatives.
    • Ensure all approved CAPEX projects are implemented within the agreed timelines, scope, and budget.

    Your professional profile includes:

    • University degree in Food, Chemical, Science, or Engineering.
    • 8+ years of relevant and diversified work experience in supply chain management, operations excellence, plant maintenance, and site management. 
    • Ideally, have exposure to manufacturing or production or industrial setups in the FMCG, Food,  Beverage, Flavour, Fragrance, Perfume, Ingredients, Nutraceutical, Pharmaceutical, Cosmetics, or Chemical sectors.
    • 3+ years of a successful leadership track record, preferably in a multinational work environment, with people management experience of at least 2 years in building mid-sized to large and performing diverse teams. 
    • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in change management and continuous improvement initiatives. 
    • Excellent business and commercial knowledge.
    • Essential to have prior experience managing relationships with labour unions and important government organisations.
    • Have a good appreciation and commitment to high quality and safety standards. 
    • A team player and comfortable with diversity. 
    • Preference will be given to suitable candidates from designated groups whose appointments will contribute towards achieving the Company's employment equity goals.

    Creation Head Sub Saharan Africa

    In this exciting role you will:

    Flavour Preparation & Evaluation:

    • Prepare flavour samples as requested for creation and applications needs, technology performance assessment, physical testing.
    • Formulate new flavour creations or modify existing flavours to meet project requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development for selected flavour types.
    • Participate in the evaluation of materials developed internally or from external sources and assess potential for flavour creation.
    • Complete daily tasks and manage assigned projects and provide flavours which meet all defined project needs, considering when relevant good manufacturing practices, sample scale-up, production requirements, regulatory compliance.

    Knowledge Sharing & Expertise:

    • When requested serve as technical expert to resolve flavour production issues and customer complaints and complete ownership of created flavours.
    • Coach, train, motivate, and mentor flavour assistants.
    • Participate and learn about all areas of the company (analytical chemistry, sensory, consumer understanding, regulatory, flavour delivery, manufacturing, etc.).
    • Contribute as technical expert and advisor to internal and external partners for ingredient and flavour performance for selected flavour types.
    • Contribute to discussions of research plans, sensory results/insights, making experimental observations and making connections to related, but separate technologies.
    • Make suggestions for future research or sensory activities.
    • Contribute to the planning of technical or sensory projects.

    Environmental Health & Safety:

    • You will maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines.

    About You:

    • Polytechnic or Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology
    • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Flavourist after completion of the Givaudan Flavourist Trainee programme or accepted industry equivalent.
    • Experience working with sweet goods, diary, beverages
    • Expert level tasting skills with a basic level ability to understand how to adjust a flavour formulation in the direction needed for flavour modifications
    • Knowledge of raw materials and flavour ingredients for the ability to formulate selected flavour types to deliver flavour performance, problem solving processes, research and development needs, etc.
    • Relevant understanding of common flavour creation solvent and carrier systems to formulate selected flavour types
    • Basic ability to interface with internal and external partners and customers and discuss the flavour creation needs for selected flavour types Basic knowledge of local and regional regulatory requirements for flavours
    • Prepare and present basic flavour creation related technical presentations. Basic knowledge of application equipment, ingredients, and manufacturing procedures Basic knowledge of formulating suitable delivery systems for different application bases Basic knowledge of analytical methodologies (G.C. HPLC, Mass Spec.)
    • Basic knowledge of flavour manufacturing equipment and processes
    • Basic knowledge of flavour performance and be able to formulate using this data to improve flavour performance

    Sales Support Executive

    Support Executive Your future Position?

    As a member of the Commercial Team, you will collaborate closely with the Area Sales Manager and two Key Account Managers. Your primary responsibility will involve providing valuable back-end support to bolster the efforts of the commercial team.

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and sales documentation.
    • Coordination and execution on sample receipt & delivery (courier)
    • Manage and update the customer project system 
    • Follow through on essential tasks and actions from the Key Account Manager's customer meetings. 
    • You will be the backup and admin for the Key Account Manager. 
    • You will be liaising with the relevant persons to ensure that any actions required are taken and then followed through to completion. 
    • You will be liaising with inter departments (Regulatory, Customer Care, Technical, Pricing team and system Power-users) on a daily basis to action the tasks.
    • You will Maintain and Update the Customer portfolio database
    • Management and submission of key documentation for the customer within the internal systems
    • Become the Key/super user of Givaudan systems 
    • Follow up on and update projects & general requests
    • Track credit management queries
    • Assist with compiling and submitting the Forecast information from the customer

    Sales Support:

    • Assist in submitting and preparing monthly sales reports
    • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order processing.
    • Monitor and report on sales performance metrics.
    • Contribute to the development of sales team
    • You will participate in flavour training and tasting sessions. 
    • You will be responsible for project management, pricing, data management and general commercial responsibilities. 
    • Therefore, systematic, organized and conscientious abilities are essential.
    • Manage customer queries and internal coordination with multi-functional teams (both locally & globally). 
    • Ability to work both independently and proactively are key.

    Pricing:

    • Pricing co-ordination with the Givaudan pricing teams (regional)
    • Update customer price lists and respond to price queries & quotation requests
    • Responsible for the maintenance of all pricing files according to portfolio

    Customer Engagement:

    • Assist in managing and maintaining relationships with customers 
    • Respond to customer inquiries promptly and professionally. 
    • Provide exceptional customer service and act as a liaison between customer/Key Account Manager and the teams within the business 
    • Management, initiation and tracking on customer projects via Givaudan Project system
    • Responsible for communication and co-ordination on the project to the customer teams and internal teams
    • Manage customer project sample requests from Sampling and coordinate with the Technical teams

    Your professional profile includes:

    • Diploma/Degree and 5 years working experience in a similar role
    • Advanced level of Excel  certificate to be provided upon request
    • Experience in customer relationship management
    • Good project management capability
    • Exposure working in an international/multinational company
    • Experience working in a matrix organisation and with remote teams
    • Good communication and business writing skills
