    Machine Operator - Cape Town

    About the position:

    Operating a machine that produces top-notch products for ¼ of the world’s population is a hard job, but it’s worth it when you’re recognized often by your manager, supported by your team, and see the products you produce being used by your own family at the end of the day.

    In this role, you will be running technologically advanced, high-speed manufacturing equipment and collaborating with new or junior team members to do their best work safely. This role is part of Kimberly-Clark’s substantial investment in creating new jobs and expanding its capabilities to produce premium Huggies and Kotex that are essential to millions of lives around the world, right here in Epping.     Main Responsibilities:

    • Follow safe operating practises when operating machine, by ensuring guarding is in place and follow works instructions. 
    • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and hygiene in the department and follow 5S Housekeeping principles. 
    • Operate the section of the asset to manufacture product according to specifications and to ensure quality compliance. 
    • Perform modular process Pit stop duties in-line with prescribed guidelines. 
    • Reports and informs team leader of any engineering or operational non-conformances, i.e. Wearable/broken parts. 
    • Participate in problem solving techniques to ensure machine efficiencies. 
    • Ensure that all materials used complies with the Quality Management System and within required specifications. 
    • Knows the values of the main performance indicators (MDH, Waste, Delay, Number of stops and % Quality) of the machine to which assigned. 
    • Record quality information on prescribed documentations. 
    • Assist with Maintenance and Grade Changes on Assets. 
    • Attend pre shift hand over meetings.

    Operations Learner - Cape Town

    About the position:

     

    Learning Opportunity exist for fixed-term work experience in the field of High-Speed Manufacturing. The incumbents will be based at Kimberly Clark Epping Mill (Cape Town). This Learning program requires on-the-job learning supported by structured or institutional learning.

     

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Incumbent to complete Experiential learning whilst working shifts.
    • Comply with all rules and regulations set by the company.
    • Attend and complete all Theoretical training and assessment as per the learner program.
    • Adhere to the Experiential Learning program whilst working 12hrs shifts.
    • Support operations with ad hoc/out-of-program training tasks if and when required.
    • Complete all relevant Competency assessments and apply newly learned skills.
    • Comply with all Company Policies and Procedures.
    • Comply and adhere to all Environmental, Health, and safety requirements.
    • Apply all relevant Product quality standards and procedures.
    • Demonstrate the KC Ways of Working

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Previous working experience within FMCG will be an added advantage.
    • Basic understanding of Manufacturing – Safety and Product Quality compliance
    • Academic results above 50% in their final year
    • A Learner who wants to pursue a career within a Supply Chain/Manufacturing/FMCG environment.
    • Committed team player, outspoken, willing to learn, results-oriented, attention to detail, self-starter.
