    BI Specialist

    Role overview

    • We’re looking for a passionate Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist that can help us unify our data to deliver high-precision analytics to our data-driven organization, delivering insights to impact.
    • As a member of our professional data team, you must be able to transform data into action and deliver data insight that is fast, real and memorable to our stakeholders, unlocking the power of data as insight into impact. You must be enthusiastic to communicate findings and insight across multiple business levels.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain BI solutions, including data models, pipelines, reporting and analytics tooling.
    • Works closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design solutions to meet those needs.
    • Monitors and optimizes BI solutions to ensure performance and scalability proactively.
    • Collaborates with other department teams to ensure an integrated BI solution throughout the organization, delivering a data-driven culture.
    • Provide training and technical support on BI tooling to analytical stakeholders and technical team members.
    • Innovate with the latest BI technologies and trends - recommending new approaches and technologies to solve everyday opportunities.
    • Conduct data quality checks and implement measures /KPIs/models to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
    • Identifying opportunities for process improvement and optimisation based on data insight.

    Requirements

    • 4-5 Years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, focusing on business data modelling.
    • 3-5 Years of experience using SQL to build data insights.
    • Strong data visualization skills using tools like Looker, PowerBI, QlikView, or Tableau (Any analytical platform is an advantage)
    • Prior experience in designing and implementing performance measures to track business or product KPIs.
    • Fundamental knowledge of data patterns and dataset analysis that contributes to opportunities for business process improvement.
    • Flair for conceptual designs, data modelling skills and techniques.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledgeable on data management concepts, e.g., Data Governance and data protection and privacy laws, like GDPR
    • A degree in the information technology field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Math, Science, Engineering)
    • Exposure to cloud-based technologies and modern data development tooling, e.g., Azure (Synapse), AWS (Athena / Redshift) and Google (BigQuery)

    Data Engineer

    Role Overview

    • We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. You will use various methods to transform raw data into useful data pipelines and information systems. For example, you will create algorithms and conduct statistical analysis. Overall, you will strive for efficiency by aligning data systems with business goals.
    • To succeed in this data engineering position, you should have strong analytical skills and expertise in combining structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data from various business sources. Data engineer skills also include familiarity with several programming languages and knowledge of machine-learning algorithms.

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
    • 3+ years of experience using SQL
    • Proven experience with Microsoft SQL Server/ Azure SQL DB
    • Knowledge and ability to integrate, transform, and consolidate data from MS Azure SQL Database/ SQL Managed Instances/ Google Big Query into structures that are suitable for building modern analytics solutions in GCP with Big Query and visualized in Looker
    • Exposure to SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or dbt Cloud
    • The ability to design, implement, monitor, and optimize data platforms to meet the data pipeline needs
    • Candidates with Azure Data Factory (ADF) knowledge is an added advantage
    • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, and C/C#), is an added benefit.
    • Experience using modern software engineering practices (Agile)
    • Knowledge in using computational and mathematical thinking processing when engineering solutions
    • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, similar field, or relevant real-world experience
    • Data engineering certification (e.g., Azure/AWS/Google/IBM Certified Data Engineer) is a plus

    Group Financial Controller - Fintech (Hybrid)

    • The ideal candidate for this role will assist the CFO in building out the finance function ensuring robust controls, fit to support continued rapid growth and expansion. You will have management of day-to-day finance functions including the preparation of consolidated management and statutory accounts. You will have proven experience and be very comfortable working with multi currencies and preparing consolidated accounts, strong analytical skills and advanced Excel.
    • You will also have high growth tech experience (preferably FinTech), as well as have experienced best-practice in a larger organisation, and be willing to travel to Nigeria once every quarter to establish, and build solid relationships with our Fully licensed Bank team in Lagos.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    Accounting and Financial Reporting

    • Overseeing and governing the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management accounts
    • Develop and/or enhance Group accounting policies
    • Ownership of KPI analysis, providing insights to drive business decision making
    • Assist with the design and roll-out of company-wide budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning process
    • Ensure the company is always compliant in relation to transfer pricing and that all relevant documentation is maintained and updated regularly
    • Management of transactional finance and automation where possible using technology Profile
    • Establish, implement and document accounting processes in order to scale more efficiently and effectively
    • Be day-to-day contact for the external audit process;
    • Work with Group CFO to develop a tax strategy for the group
    • Work with external tax advisers to obtain advice on tax structuring and other tax issues
    • Ensure group-wide compliance with tax requirements of jurisdictions Kuda operates in
    • Identify and lead the implementation of General Ledger and associated Financial Systems
    • Develop, measure, and maintain key financial metrics
    • Work closely with Data and Decision and Commercial Finance teams to ensure financial information is real-time and available to key people within the company
    • Oversight and operational management of Kuda's operational bank accounts
    • Management of cash flow forecasting across the group
    • Day-to-day contact with relationship banks
    • Liaising and working with team members across Kuda’s global footprint and teams
    • Identify and suggest operational best practices in the area of finance
    • Proven experience in building out a finance function including processes, teams, systems
    • Comfortable working with multi currencies and preparing consolidated accounts
    • Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel

    • The ability to “say it with charts” exceptional skill at financial modeling, and creating presentations for senior management and to aid Board decision-making
    • Strong technical skills to understand and design the financial system infrastructure;
    • A deep understanding of a bank’s balance sheet, key regulatory ratios, accounting of securities portfolios, loans and hedge accounting principles is considered an advantage.
