    Quality Technologist

    Quality Technologist 

    • A well-established FMCG manufacturing company based in Germiston is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Quality Technologist to join their team. 
    • This role is ideal for a technically strong individual with experience in Food Safety and Quality Management Systems who is passionate about maintaining high food safety standards, driving continuous improvement, and leading quality processes within a production environment. 
    • You will take full responsibility for developing, implementing, verifying, and continuously improving the Food Safety and Quality Management System at plant level, while managing a small quality team and working closely with production, technical, and customer stakeholders.

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Diploma in Food Technology (Essential) 
    • Degree in Food Science (Preferred) 
    • 2–4 years’ Quality Assurance or technical experience in an FMCG environment 
    • 1–2 years’ supervisory experience 
    • Proven experience developing and/or reviewing Food Safety & Quality Management Systems (HACCP, VACCP, TACCP, FSSC 22000) 
    • Strong understanding of food safety legislation and regulatory compliance 
    • Ability to manage audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions 
    • Must be able to commute reliably to Germiston or relocate at own cost 

    Roles and Responsibilities: 

    Food Safety & Quality Management System 

    • Develop, update, implement, and verify the Food Safety and Quality Management System. 
    • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and certification standards (HACCP, FSSC, VACCP, TACCP). 
    • Maintain all quality documentation including procedures, policies, specifications, checklists, and work instructions. 
    • Conduct internal training to ensure compliance across departments. 
    • Develop and perform internal audit schedules. 
    • Represent the plant during customer and certification audits. 
    • Ensure continuous improvement and alignment between documentation and operational activities. 

    Quality Control & Risk Management 

    • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures. 
    • Monitor raw materials, processes, and finished products to ensure compliance. 
    • Oversee microbiological sampling, trending, and reporting. 
    • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances and implement corrective actions. 
    • Maintain zero tolerance for audit findings and process deviations. 
    • Ensure proper control of allergens, contamination risks, and hygiene standards. 
    • Verify compliance of product and process control equipment. 

    Projects & Product Trials 

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Technical, NPD) on new product development and improvement projects. 
    • Develop and execute trial plans. 
    • Compile and distribute detailed trial reports. 
    • Update product specifications, work instructions, and quality documentation. 
    • Oversee trial sample management and implementation into production. 

    Team Management 

    • Manage and coordinate Quality Controllers (5 direct reports). 
    • Supervise daily activities to ensure performance targets are achieved. 
    • Oversee time and attendance and ensure fair application of disciplinary processes. 
    • Support employee development and training. 
    • Foster a positive working environment and strong quality culture. 

    Stakeholder & Technical Communication 

    • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and internal departments. 
    • Respond to client enquiries within agreed timelines. 
    • Represent the plant during audits and walk-throughs. 
    • Promote a strong culture of food safety and quality compliance. 

    SHEQ Compliance 

    • Ensure hygiene, PPE compliance, and food safety standards are maintained at all times. 
    • Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

    • Our client, a well-established leader in waste and environmental management solutions since 1984, is seeking a Fleet Reporting & Data Analyst to join their team in Turfontein, Johannesburg.
    • Reporting to the Operations Manager within the Logistics department, this support-focused role is responsible for extracting, structuring and analysing fleet data to produce accurate and actionable operational reports.
    • The successful candidate will develop structured Excel and Google Sheets models to track productivity, overtime, route efficiency and cost variances and ensuring management has reliable data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Advanced Excel proficiency (including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting and basic Macros).
    • Strong Google Sheets capability.
    • Experience working with large datasets.
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
    • 2–5 years’ relevant experience in reporting or operations analytics.
    • Advantageous: Experience within logistics or transport environments.

    • Build and maintain weekly and monthly fleet performance dashboards.
    • Assist in calculating cost per truck, cost per route and cost per stop.
    • Clean, validate and reconcile datasets to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity.
    • Produce structured overtime reports by depot and vehicle.
    • Identify trends impacting fuel usage, maintenance expenses and labour costs.
    • Monitor driver and assistant timekeeping records.
    • Provide month-on-month variance comparisons to highlight performance shifts.
    • Request and verify supporting documentation where required to ensure completeness.
    • Identify and highlight deviations and anomalies within operational data.
    • Implement basic automation processes where appropriate to improve reporting efficiency.
    • Support future reporting expansion into recycling and sustainability metrics.
    • Ensure all data is accurate and complete prior to final report submission.

    • Our client is seeking an experienced Underground Mechanical Engineer to support underground mining operations on a 12-month contract at its Mooinooi, North West operation.
    • The role is accountable for ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective performance of underground mechanical equipment and infrastructure.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ underground mining experience.
    • Advantageous: GCC Mines & Works. (Mechanical)
    • Proven experience with underground mobile and fixed mechanical equipment.
    • Sound knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and relevant regulations.
    • Experience in maintenance management, equipment reliability, and breakdown analysis.
    • Strong understanding of risk management and safe work practices.
    • Computer literacy (MS Office and maintenance management systems)
    • Medically fit for underground work.

     Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Ensure all underground mechanical installations, equipment, and maintenance activities comply with MHSA and site standards.
    • Provide mechanical engineering support to achieve safe and sustainable production targets.
    • Manage and optimise planned maintenance systems to improve equipment availability and reliability.
    • Investigate mechanical failures, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
    • Conduct regular underground inspections to identify risks, defects, and non-compliance.
    • Review and approve mechanical designs, standards, and technical documentation.
    • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and life-of-asset strategies.
    • Manage contractor performance and ensure work is executed safely and to specification.
    • Compile engineering reports, risk assessments, and performance data for management review.
    • Work closely with production, engineering, and safety teams to drive continuous improvement.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational discipline.
