    Enrolled Nurse - Maternity Ward (Melomed Mitchells Plain)

    Requirements:

    • Current Registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse
    • Proven experience as an Enrolled Nurse
    • Previous experience in a Private Hospital is advantageous
    • Shift work compulsory
    • Understand basic IPC practices 

    Key outputs:

    • Work within scope of practice
    • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols and best practices
    • Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles
    • Promote and maintain patient health and give health education
    • Strong quality patient care orientation
    • BLS competent

    Deputy Unit Manager - Theatre (Melomed Mitchells Plain)

    Requirements: 

    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse 
    • Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre Technique 
    • 5 years Operational Experience in a Theatre Unit
    • Scrub experience in Cardiothoracic Neurosurgery and or Ophthalmology will be advantageous
    • Previous experience in a management position will be advantageous 
    • Knowledge of the legislative and Occupational Health and Safety requirements 
    • Valid Driver’s licence and ability to travel
    • Afterhours availability – own transport 
    • Work flextime 
    • Excellent Leadership qualities and mentoring skills 
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and problem-solving skills 
    • The skill to manage nursing standards and in-service training 
    • Maintain a professional image and character 
    • Build sound working relationships with multidisciplinary team

    Key Outputs: 

    • Be operational as well as assist with managing the administrative duties 
    • Assist in managing the Theatre Department
    • Liaise and communicate with Surgeons
    • Assist with management of staff 
    • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures at all times 
    • Manage staff according to the Basic Conditions of Employment and the Disciplinary Code, staff-planning and Recruitment and Selection of staff 
    • Assist with the day to day problem solving
    • Stock and equipment management including ordering of stock and equipment
    • Accurate billing of stock utilised
    • Training and development of Theatre staff 
    • After hours cover as per a roster 
    • Assisting with conducting regular inspections 
    • Maintain infection control strategies and procedures of the hospital 
    • Maintain health and safety principles 
    • Maintain and apply the required discipline 
    • Evaluation, intervention and resolution of patient complaints and queries 
    • Manage ad hoc projects as and when required

    Requirements

    • Matric
    • Registered with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse
    • Minimum 2-3 years post qualification experience 
    • Previous experience in a Private Hospital is advantageous
    • Shift work compulsory
    • Work overtime when required
    • Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments

    • Adhere to hospital policies, protocols and best practices
    • Knowledge and insight into infection prevention principles
    • Promote and maintain patient health and give health education
    • Able to complete patient assessments, compiling and implementation of appropriate nursing care plan

    Requirements:

    • Current Registration with SANC as a Registered Nurse
    • Post Basic Qualification in Critical Care General will be advantageous
    • Minimum 2 -3 years’ proven experience as a Registered Nurse in ICU 
    • Ventilator competency is essential 
    • Shift work compulsory and work overtime when required
    • Be flexible and willing to assist in other departments
