    Fitter & Turner - Mechanical Workshop - Umkomaas

    As a Fitter & Turner, you will be responsible for:

    • Perform inspections on workshop machinery and equipment daily and maintain the equipment when necessary, using suitable tools and equipment
    • Participate in and execute proactive maintenance activities for example RCA’s and failure analysis
    • Perform breakdown overhauls on unplanned equipment failures, as well as on scheduled/planned work
    • Overhauling of pumps,gearboxes,agitators and other pieces of equipment in the fitting section
    • Fit, assemble, grind, machine, and shape metal parts and sub-assemblies to maintain machinery and equipment
    • Machine a variety of equipment and components on the boring mill as and when required
    • Perform overhauls of any piece of equipment in the plant, for example, pumps, gearboxes, rolls, fans, mixers, blowers, feeders, screw compressors, grabs, etc using all machines available such as lathes, vertical/horizontal boring mills, milling and drilling machines, grinding and shaping machines
    • Manufacture various components such as shafts, bushes, pins, flanges, etc for all types of Plant equipment
    • Rig up to 2.5 T during standard maintenance activities
    • Complete sketches of work when no drawings are available and share knowledge with other Fitter/Turners in the Workshop
    • Perform any other assigned tasks that fall within the scope of a Fitter and Turner

    What are we looking for?

    • Grade 12 and N3 Engineering 
    • Recognised trade test certificate as a Fitter and Turner
    • 2 years post apprenticeship experience in a heavy engineering environment will be considered advantageous

    Maintenance Manager - Electrical - Mpumalanga

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Optimize Equipment: Develop strategies for maximum equipment efficiency.
    • Engineering Support: Provide installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for DCS, QCS, VSD Drives, and hydraulic systems.

    Commodity Specialist - JHB

    This role reports into the Procurement Specialist

    As a Commodity Specialist, you will be responsible for:

    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for tactical, non-category managed, products and as per sourcing strategy, framework and procurement policy.
    • Perform analysis of business requirements such as supply markets, supply chains, demand patterns and commodity strategies.
    • Negotiate optimum commercial agreements for short (one-year) and medium-term (three-year) contracts.
    • Draft and conclude supply agreements and service level agreements for tactical, non-category managed goods and services.
    • Consult with the Legal department to draft supply agreements.
    • Ensure that all materials and services are sourced and procured according to specification; following the procurement policy and/or as detailed in the sourcing strategy.

    What are we looking for?

    • A minimum of 5 – 8 years’ experience in industrial, procurement or materials management environment and Finance.
    • Experience in the technical and/or manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
    • SAP MM experience would be advantageous.

    Instrument Mechanician - Ngodwana

    As an Instrumentation Mechanician, your role includes:

    • Installing, commissioning, modifying, and maintaining instrument installations and DCS equipment to meet Engineering and Production standards.
    • Optimizes Process Controls: Optimizes process control systems (DCS) through loop tuning and fault-finding to ensure performance requirements are met.
    • Repairs and Replaces Instruments: Removes, cleans, repairs, and replaces defective instruments using appropriate hand tools.

    • Possession of a Recognized Instrumentation Trade Certificate accredited by Manpower or SETA.
    • Preferably, a minimum of 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience, with a strong emphasis on instrumentation fault finding within an industrial setting.
    • Experience with Profibus would be advantageous.

    Operator Relief : Boiler Attendant - Mill Tugela

    As a Operator Relief : Boiler Attendant , you will be responsible to:

    • Takes and hand over shift.
    • Conducts a section walkabout to inspect plant for start-up and completes checklist
    • Checks on coal bunker levels at the beginning of every shift.
    • Cleans Hydro Seals on Boiler’s.
    • Slices and breaks up ash clinkers.
    • Initiates light up of Boilers, after instruction from Process Controller: Steam.
    • Blows soot on the boilers by operating soot blowers, after instruction from Process Controller: Steam.
    • Maintain coal supply to Coal fired boiler.
    • Assists Process Controller: Steam with plant operation.
    • Clears blockages on grit hoppers on boilers.
    • Reports defects or any unsafe conditions.
    • Collects ash samples from each boiler, crushes the ash, numbers the containers and takes them to the laboratory on instruction from Process Controller: Steam.
    • Collects Boiler water samples and deliver them to the demin plant operator on instruction from Process Controller: Steam.
    • Keeps Grit refiring hoppers on CFB’s clean.
    • Remove and replace covers on Hydro seals and jammed stokers for cleaning.
    • Carries out Plant related tasks on instruction from the Supervisor.
    • HP cleaning of Boilers.
    • Assist Process Controller Steam with all related tasks at Power
    • Station e.g. Opening and Closing of Valves.

    Process Manager - Paper - Mill Tugela

    As a Process Manager, you will be responsible for : 

    • Continually seek opportunities for the enhancement of productivity and quality by applying Lean Manufacturing Principles.
    • Manages the plant operations to ensure the optimum utilisation of all resources.
    • Manages the shut process for effective execution.
    • Reviewing, initiating and implementing BOP standards and procedures.

    Gum Chipper Operator - Mill Tugela

    As a Gum Chipper Operator, you will be responsible to:

    • Conducts Plant inspection to ensure that the equipment is in a safe working condition.
    • Operates fork lift to transport chipper Knives, bed knives.
    • Prepare Gum Plant up to Screens for start-up and shut down according to production and quality requirements.
    • Monitors chipping process in respect of quality and takes corrective action where necessary e.g.(high fines, excessive slivers and cards)
    • Clear blockages in chipper spout, conveyors etc.
    • Changes knives, bed knife as and when required.
    • Assist Engineering staff with plant maintenance e.g. changing knife holders, Wear plates, conveyor idlers change, etc.
    • Conducts Isolation permits on request from Eng. And Cleaning Staff.
    • Operates Over Head Crane to clear blockages.
    • Monitor Silo levels.
    • Use of Safety harness when operating Chipper.
    • Cleans bark strainer and sand settling out bays below Aero conveyor and stairway.
    • Reports on all defects and equipment malfunctions to Pulp Foreman and Eng. Personnel.
    • Regularly Inspects equipment for preventative maintenances purposes.
    • Ensure Timber rotation is taking place
    • Instructs Contractors feeding and offloading logs of daily shift plans.
    • Random quality checks on trucks delivering logs for compliance.
    • Ensure regular inspection of Safety harness, send to riggers for compliances
    • Complete section checklist and log book.

    What are we looking for?

    • N3 Pulp and Paper (4 subjects)
    • Minimum of (1 to 3) years’ experience within the paper making environment.
    • Computer Literacy (SAP & MS Office)
    • SAP knowledge will be advantageous

    Site Supervisor : Projects - Mill Saiccor

    As a Site Supervisor: Projects you will be responsible for:

    • Assist management in identifying risks and issues that can impact project delivery, looking at contingency plans, and mitigating actions
    • Monitor the outcome of the project, tracking the performance of all contractors, vendors, and other involved entities
    • Monitor mechanical project upgrades or modifications to plant or process equipment
    • Participate in the adjudication and technical bid clarification process on projects
    • Inspect and approve contractor or supplier quality assurance and resource plans

    • Completion of accredited training in Project Management will be considered advantageous

    Electrician - Mill Tugela

    As an Electrician, you will be responsible for:  

    • Installs, tests, connects, commissions, maintains and modifies electrical equipment, wiring and control systems.
    • Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
    • Ensure optimum plant availability by efficient diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment.
    • Coordinates with assigned Foreman and/or other trades for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
    • Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information.
    • Inspects electrical systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating conditions, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance.
    • Overhaul AC and DC motors and perform series of tests on each motor to determine the condition of the motor windings, insulation and core lamination during this process.

    • Electrical Trade test Certificate
    • 5 Years post apprentice experience (preferable)
