    Electrical Superintendent - Atlantis

    PURPOSE OF ROLE

    The Electrical Superintendent has the overall responsibility for coordinating and integrating all mechanical construction activities on site, in compliance with instructions, drawings and specifications received from the Construction Manager.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Manage subcontractors assigned to perform site work in areas he/she is responsible for.
    • Construction Coordination, Material Management and Subcontractor Liaison.
    • Ensure the implementation and compliance of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security policies and plans in accordance with the requirements of the Construction regulation.
    • Track and inform the Construction Manager of the progress of works and of any occurrence in field that may affect the Project execution.
    • Manage subcontractors on site to ensure delivery according to the project plan.
    • Attend relevant site meetings.
    • Verify that the contactors Health and Safety plans are in accordance with the Health and Safety Specification and approve the Health and Safety plan in accordance with the requirements of the construction regulations.
    • Perform regular site walkabouts to personally ensure compliance to the Health and Safety Plan.
    • Must be familiar with the project EMP and conduct regular meetings with the environmental officer to ensure the EMP plan requirements and guidelines are being adhered to.
    • Ensure that the Project Industrial Relations Policy and Procedures are implemented by the contractors.
    • Maintain relations with all local external organizations and statutory bodies.
    • Ensure in co-operation with the Construction Manager that the contractors are performing the works according to their contractual obligations.
    • Verify that the procedures for construction works progress measurements are correctly implemented
    • Responsible to manage and control subcontractor construction documentation and to ensure it is collected, stored and reviewed.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Artisan / Technician (National Certificate) + 5 years related experience including quality assurance principles. OR
    • Technician (Engineering diploma - ND) + 3-year related experience including quality assurance principles.
    • OHSA and Construction Regulations training.
    • Should be eligible to become a PR CM. (Senior Construction Superintendent).
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Construction Supervisor or related experience.
    • Project Co-ordination experience will be advantageous.
    • Must have quality control related experience.
    • Must have a proven track record delivering assigned work successfully and managing people.
    • Having and overview understanding of PMBOK Principles will be advantageous.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction management principals.
    • Thorough knowledge on contract management and contract requirements.
    • Thorough understanding of project scheduling.
    • Good knowledge of regulatory and safety governance, focusing on site requirements.

    Senior Document Controller & Data Book Co-Ordinator

    PURPOSE OF ROLE

    To ensure all work-performed documentation generated by Lesedi or its subcontractors during project activities, conforms to our customer`s relevant codes and standards. Ensure that documentation is prepared in advance, so that hand over packs that are progressively generated, are ready for handover to the client.

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Ensure that subcontractor documentation is fully compliant with the specification requirements.
    • Ensure that projects and subcontractor documentation is submitted timeously and is reviewed adequately for compliance with the specification requirements.
    • Ensure that any open NCRS are monitored and closed out in conjunction with the QA department.
    • Review and input to subcontractor`s documentation by detailed reviews to ensure the accuracy of information submitted inserting comment on the documentation submitted and working with the subcontractor/department heads to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
    • Acceptance of data books by the client, without repeated submissions to the client
    • Provide feedback to projects on issues of potential non-compliance and discuss any issues with the client, in order to resolve the conflict.
    • Act as point of contact for the resolution of errors in process paperwork.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Diploma in Document control (or similar)
    • Experience in Quality Management systems (advantageous)
    • Mechanical engineering site experience or Diploma qualification (advantageous)
    • A working knowledge of Codes, Standards and relevant legislation
    • 3 years data pack review experience
    • IMS experience at a general level

    COMPETENCIES

    • Working knowledge of ISO 9001.
    • Must be conversant and capable of conducting audits on documents for accuracy.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Compilation and review of subcontractor files.

    Junior Document Controller - Atlantis

    PURPOSE OF ROLE

    The Document Controller supports the maintenance and control of all project documentation ensuring document quality by doing routine checks on documentation prior to processing/submission and or filing into the Documentation Management System.

    Maintain and track the storage of Hardcopy and Electronic information and ensuring that it is easily retrievable.

     KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Provide Configuration Control Support and Services throughout the project:
    • Accurate Input information on control logs as required by the project.
    • Formatting of documents
    • Maintain Filing System accurately and effectively (Manual and/or EDMS)
    • Control / tracking engineering deliverables
    • Establish and maintain a site document control facility with equipment and storage within a suitable environment
    • Process contractor/construction documentation submissions ensuring adherence to agreed turnaround periods and timelines
    • Maintain a current set of master AFC drawings in the site document control centre
    • Control submission of as built drawings
    • Control submission and review of Data Books
    • Compile document handover packs.
    • Maintain Archive Database
    • Scan, image, organize and maintain documents ensuring document quality standards.
    • Maintain and report on all registers at any point in time as required including Master Document List (MDL) and Letter Register.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Matric with minimum 5 to 10 years’ Document Control and Record Management related experience in a project and construction site environment
    • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint)
    • Advance experience with M-Files
    • Experience with other Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) will be advantageous.
    • Experience with Aconex is preferable.
    • Must be able generate standard tracking mechanisms for information and records,
    • Document hand over, archiving and close-out experience

    Electrical QC Inspector - Atlantis

    To ensure all work performed by Lesedi or it’s subcontractors conform to our customer’s, relevant codes, standards and safety requirements. Deliverables in terms of client requirements.

    • Modify, compile and review Quality Plans, Quality Control procedures, standards and checklists and documentation to meet requirements.
    • Review SIF Change Notifications, Site Intervention Files (SIF), Installation Specifications (IS), Test Plans (TP), Work Plans (WP) and Quality Control Plans (QCP) and assign inspection points.
    • Perform QC inspections during project implementation.
    • Verify correct documentation at work site, personnel qualifications and M&TE calibrations are current and workmanship standards are met.
    • Ensure conformance to requirements, good work practices and promote safety.
    • Compile Punch lists and perform COC inspections.
    • Perform Post Work Review of all Project Packages.
    • Assess, monitor, report and identify good or sub-standard work and areas for improvement.
    • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
    • Perform supplier audits to place them on the Approved Suppliers List.
    • Witness Welder and Welding Procedure Qualification Tests.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
    • ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and an advantage would be ISO 45001.
    • Additional instrumentation, such as welding, heavy fabrication.
    • 5 years related experience in Electrical Engineering environment.
    • Performs visual inspections, dimensional test, checks rating and material for connection.
    • A working knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA codes and standards relating to electrical and instrumentation work.
    • For nuclear projects, training in nuclear power plant operation.
    • Previous exposure to high voltage electrical installation including switchgear and electric drives.
    • Instrument calibrations including ultrasonic flow meter, level transmitters, temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters etc.
    • Hazardous Area installation and inspection experience is an advantage.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Knowledge of Codes, Standards and Welding Processes.
    • General knowledge of ISO 9001- 2000 & IAEA 50 C-Q for Nuclear projects.
    • General knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
    • Understanding of quality, environmental and safety management systems.

    Civil Supervisor - Atlantis

    The Construction Superintendent has the overall responsibility for coordinating and integrating construction activities on site for those areas responsible to him/her, in compliance with instructions received from the Construction Manager.

    •  Ensures site staff compliance with the Lesedi NS Health and Safety Policy and Plan.
    •  Ensures site staff compliance with the Lesedi NS Environmental Management Plan and compliance with the requirements of the ROD and EPA is mandatory.

    Kick-Off:

    •  Assume responsibility as Construction Superintendent.
    •  Familiarise with areas of responsibility.
    •  Verify details of required construction work required.

    Execute:

    •  The construction Superintendent’s work is site based and will spend the largest majority of his/her time on site in the work area he/she is responsible for.
    •  Track and inform the Construction Manager of the progress of works and of any occurrence in field that may  affect the Project execution.
    •  Manage subcontractors on site to ensure delivery according to the project plan.
    •  Attend relevant site meetings.
    •  Complete (fill in) project documents during implementation as required.
    •  Verify that the contactors Health and Safety plans are in accordance with the Health and Safety Specification and approve the Health and Safety plan in accordance with the requirements of the  construction regulations.
    •  Perform regular site walkabouts to personally ensure compliance to the Health and Safety Plan.
    •  Must be familiar with the project EMP and conduct regular meetings with the environmental officer to  ensure the EMP plan requirements and guidelines are being adhered to.
    •  Ensure that the Project Industrial Relations Policy and Procedures are implemented by the contractors.
    •  Maintain relations with all local external organizations and statutory bodies.

    •  Ensure that defective product produced by subcontracts is repaired in line with contract requirements.
    •  Identify and manage interfaces such as Permits to Work, site specific Health and Safety requirements,shutdown requirements, etc. to minimize the impact of construction on operations.
    •  Verify that the procedures for construction works progress measurements are correctly implemented e.g. quality assurance.
    •  Responsible to ensure that the construction activities are executed and coordinated according to the
    •    construction strategies and plan, and that the scheduled targets, in terms of the progress, are achieved.
    •  Responsible to ensure the availability at Site of the material to be incorporated into the plant complies with\activity schedule, and that that all materials are stored, protected, handled and installed to contractual   obligations.
    •  Measure personnel performance via agreed KPI’s.
    •  Establish and communicate the job description for all site personnel with clear responsibilities.
    •  Responsible to manage and control subcontractor construction documentation and to ensure it is collected,  stored and reviewed.
    •  It is a mandatory requirement for this role on the project to be a Responsible Person in terms of the OHSA act to allow the taking out of Permit to Works.
    •  Prepare construction documentation of responsible areas, for inclusion in final handover pack.
    •  Demobilise site.
    •  Assist in preparing lessons learnt register.

    Qualifications:
