    Product Specialist Milling - Africa

    • Combine your process and mechanical product experience with your knowledge of sales area installed base in our Spare Parts and Modernisation team to have the opportunity to support and grow the FLS customer wallet share for the product line.  By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and challenges.  

    Your responsibilities

    • Leads sales activities for the product line in collaboration with the territory sales team.
    • Work closely with product experts and customers to develop product solutions.
    • Identifies sales support needs for the sales area including training, sales materials etc.
    • Assists to define Services marketing strategy and support marketing and the implementation thereof
    • Provide technical support for the product line technologies
    • Map and maintain information on competitor activity
    • Engages key stakeholders in all activities
    • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

    What you bring

    • An engineering degree
    • 10 years experience in the minerals processing industry with at least 5 years spent directly involved with milling technologies
    • Experience in mineral processing equipment operations, maintenance and repair
    • Ability to lead sales of product and solutions
    • Ability to work in diverse and global teams
    • Ability to identify components and define scopes for modernisation
    • Strong ability to influence customers and internal colleagues
    • Good communication skills, written and spoken
    • Ability to present at seminars, exhibitions and customer focused workshops.
    • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time, domestic and international

    Field Services Technician

    • You will be part of the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions and mining team.

    Your responsibilities

    • To ensure equipment is operational and is installed as per design, specifications and QCP.
    • Assist with commissioning equipment to ensure operations are within design specifications and safety standards thereafter handover to client with necessary documentation and provide the necessary close out reports.
    • Reports the work progress in relation to quality standards
    • Awareness of financial implications through ensuring site and commissioning costs are within the estimated value by the Control of sub suppliers site costs, managing site instructions and extra claims and controlling actual service hours within the estimated hours.
    • Evaluates machinery, equipment, systems and processes performance in order to make decisions regarding the need for operational maintenance in a technically highly sophisticated environment.
    • Troubleshoots operational maintenance problems of machinery, equipment, systems and processes to secure continuous proper functionality.
    • Makes suggestions for upgrades of machinery, equipment, systems and processes to ensure continuous functionality.
    • Performs tests of machinery, equipment, systems and processes to ensure their functionality.
    • Performs inspections/service assignments of materials/processes to assess the need for maintenance.
    • Be willing to perform work in underground conditions and extended working hours.
    • Be willing to work outside the borders of SA from time to time.

    What you bring

    • Qualified Artisan: Fitter/Millwright
    • Experience in at least one of the following product lines is essential: ABON-Sizers, Buffalo Sizers, Feeders
    • Thorough knowledge of equipment, products, site operations and maintenance.
    • 5 years’ working experience in the engineering discipline.  
    • Applying expertise and technology.
    • Deciding and initiating action.
    • The ability to work in team environment.
    • Ability to cope with pressure and work to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work alone and without guidance
    • Valid Code EB Driver's License
    • Computer literate in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS Projects

    Site Support-PCV

    Purpose of the role

    • Provide advanced onsite technical support on FLSmidth pumps, cyclones, and valves.

    Your responsibilities

    • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and rebuild of PC&V equipment on site.
    • Assist with commissioning of equipment, to ensure equipment performance is within design specifications and safety standards.
    • Performs monitoring and testing of equipment.
    • Onsite troubleshooting, addressing operational maintenance problems of machinery, equipment performance issues, system efficiencies, and processes, to secure the correct operation and performance of PCV equipment.
    • Ensure that the aftermarket business is delivered on time and the customer is satisfied with FLSmidth’s performance.
    • The monitoring of PCV inventory, working with customers and colleagues to ensure inventory levels on site and at FLSmidth stocking centers are correct.
    • The monitoring, recording and analysis of equipment performance and wear rates.
    • Maintain site installation database for both FLSmidth and competitor equipment.
    • Maintain strong relationships with customers and other site personnel.
    • Work with the regional sales and service teams to promote products/services in the region to all relevant customers.

    What you bring

    • NHD, BSC or B-Eng in Engineering.
    • At least 5 years’ experience within the mining & mineral processing industry.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in the product line.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in other languages, spoken by Customers in the region will be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of selection, sizing, and operating parameters. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, co-workers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
    • Proven negotiation and influencing skills – both external and internal.
    • Team player, able to balance multiple team memberships.                           
    • Good organization, multitasking and time management skills
