    Excise Controller

    Key responsibilities
     
    Managing daily Excise activities

    • Ensuring that any automated excise documentation for removals, printed from the system, is correctly signed, and managed (accompanying specific movement and stored). Includes cider, beer and alcohol despatches and receipts.
    • Scan all DA32 and DA187 documents into the Enterprise scan system for archive purpose.

    Managing monthly Excise activities

    • Reconciliation of alcohol register supplied by Production team.
    • Complete all manual documentation on the alcohol extraction process.
    • Compiling monthly Excise accounts
    • Beer: complete monthly reconciliation of movements by using SAP reports
    • Beer: complete monthly excise account (DA260) with information from reconciliation
    • Cider: complete monthly excise account (DA260) by using SAP reports
    • All accounts (DA260): forward to Tax department within set timelines.
    • All accounts (DA260): Complete e-filing submission (EXD260) within set timelines.

    Managing Financial entries related to excise & customs

    • Post provision entries for SARS payment to GL account for payment purpose
    • Ensure that all general ledger accounts, as per instruction from Tax Department, are reconciled and submitted on/before the set due date.
    • Complete monthly internal controls
    • Follow up on all queries and ad-hoc tasks from the Tax Department or SARS

     Education and Experience

    • BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification completed.
    • Customs Sufficient Knowledge (CSK) accreditation will be advantages
    • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Excise & Customs activities, ideally in Supply Chain.
    • FMCG experience advantageous.
    • Intellectual curiosity and ability to search out facts without prior process/guidance.
    • Excellent team player with strong oral and written communication skills.
    • High level of cross functional cooperation: effectively partnering with various teams.
    • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
    • Drive for improvements and changes.
    • Sound knowledge of MS office and SAP with specific importance to manufacturing.

    Cellar Assistant

    Purpose of job:

    Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing of tanks and all cellar equipment and to pump and rack wine. 

    Key responsibilities:

    • Assist in all operational facets in the cellar. 
    • Execute winemaking practices issued by winemakers on  Job cards. 
    • Offload and load delivery vehicles. 
    • Blend products. 
    • Essure correct use of only clean bottles with new sealed capsules.           
    • Responsible for housekeeping in the cellar. 
    • Ensure that high pressure cleaning equipment and safety equipment are used. 
    • Perform adhoc functions as and when required. 

    Education:

    • Matric 
    • Must be literate. 
    • Must be able to adapt to the cellar environment.

    Assistant Wine Maker

    Purpose of the job:

    Assist with all winemaking activities throughout the year. 

    Key responsibilities:

    • Control execution of various winemaking tasks and responsibilities.
    • Assist with disciplinary actions.
    • Promote quality conscientiousness regarding all cellar activities.
    • Co-responsible for the following:
    • control of daily winemaking activities.
    • correct intake of grapes and pressing activities during harvesting season.
    • appliance of the best work standards from grape intake to pre-bottling, to ensure the production of the highest quality wines possible.
    • monthly stock take.
    • correct daily wine transfers.
    • monthly stock take.
    • correct daily wine transfers.
    • control of wine losses and waste.
    • wine blending activities.
    • various wine preparation activities.
    • supply wine to the bottling line in time and according with product specification.
    • all cellar and harvest admin.
    • cellar hygiene.
    • maintaining and application of safety procedures.
    • Control the optimum use of cellar equipment and facilities.
    • Control the working condition of all winemaking machinery.
    • Report all machinery failure and breakdowns.
    • Co-responsible for maintaining and application of safety procedures.
    • Promote safety conscientiousness.
    • Conduct Regular safety inspections in the cellar.
    • Report immediately any hazardous safety aspects to the winemakers.
    • Implement and come up with ne wsuggestions and actions to improve the safety of the cellar activities.
    • Attend wine tastings and various wine shows.
    • Perform required wine marketing activities.
    • Responsible for food safety performed as described in the food safety team member appointment letter (must still be appointed)
    • Actively be involved in Food Defense constantly being on the lookout for suspicious behavior.

    Education:

    • A relevant BSc Degree or Elsenburg Diploma.
    • Minimum 5 years of Cellar experience.
    • People management experience.
    • Proven computer literacy in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
    • Assist with all winemaking activities throughout the year.
