Purpose Of The Position

• The purpose of the Supply Chain Planner is to ensure that an accurate demand and supply signal exists for all business units that will ensure the best customer service at the most cost effective way.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Effective demand forecasting
  • Effective statistical forecasting
  • Effective demand planning process adherence
• Effective cross-functional networking
• Effective supply planning by:
  • Ensuring stock availability at production plants to meet demand
  • Ensure bottle stock levels remain within required targets
• Maintain stable operational and tactical production plans
• Data analysis and reporting
• Establish networks with segment teams, sales, marketing and production
• Innovation and business improvement in support of operational and segment goals

The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
• 2 Years’ experience in a supply chain environment will be highly advantageous
• Sound knowledge of MS Office with specific regard to advanced excel
• SAP BW and SAP APO skills will be advantageous
• Strategic thinking skills
• Good communication skills (both written and verbally)
• Ability to work independently and meet demanding deadlines
• Action, self-driven and motivated individual
• Strong numerical aptitude
• Attention to detail and analytical abilities are essential
• Goal and service orientated
• Strong team player
• Valid driver’s licence

• B. Comm Logistics/B Eng. Degree/ with statistical application to economic activities or equivalent

The Role

Applications are invited for the above mentioned position based at the Worcester Distillery. This position is responsible for the Distell Worcester and Goudini Distilleries and the successful candidate will report to the Plant Manager: Distilleries

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure effective and efficient financial support function by providing service to the sites and its business partners
• Responsible for the operational cost management of the sites
• Render effective and efficient operational cost control at the sites
• Monthly reporting of the sites’ financial performance to management and Supply Chain Finance Centre
• Build effective relationships with external and internal stakeholders
• Implement new ideas and improve methods, systems and work processes that will lead to higher quality, better results and reduced cost
• Support and assist managers in compiling OPEX and capital budgets / forecasts
• Co-ordinate processing of budget / forecasts and effective financial control for year end
• Management reporting of OPEX and Liquor and material variance explanations
• Report on status of capital budget and manage and co-ordinate asset register
• Settlement and confirmation of production orders
• Assist and guide cost centre managers with their financial information and proper variance declarations
• Highlight areas of concern in OPEX variances and recommend corrective action where possible
• Ensure sites comply with Internal Control Checklists (ICC), self-assessments, stock takes and internal audit programs
• Report on various Financial and Non- Financial KPIs and evaluate trends
• Monthly Barrel Fixed Asset Register Reconciliation
• Monitoring and assisting in updating BOMs of products produced on sites
• Report on Monthly Production Volumes and Trends
• Responsible for the accurate and timeous processing and reconciliation of all financial transactions, management accounts and reporting relating to the Joint-Ventures (JV)

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience, attributes & qualifications:

• Relevant Accounting degree required
• CIMA qualification will be highly advantageous
• Minimum 3 years relevant business experience
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Sound knowledge of SAP and /or other ERP systems
• Sound communication skills that include excellent negotiation skills, ability to network and excellent
• presentation skills
• High energy levels and a self-starter
• Good analytical skills and ability to interpret and present financial and statistical data
• Strong decision making and problem solving ability
