    Earthworks Change hand (Limpopo)

    Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Operate a computerized maintenance system as well as report frequently on maintenance breakdowns, preventative maintenance adherence and condition of assets.
    • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good working order according to supplier’s maintenance requirements.

    PLANNING

    • Provide clear instructions and guidance to ensure tasks are performed efficiently and correctly.
    • Extensive knowledge of earthmoving techniques, equipment, and  materials.
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of earthmoving crews, including equipment operators, labourers, and other workers.
    • Conduct regular team meeting and briefing to communicate project updates and safety protocols.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce compliances with health and safety regulations.
    • Implement and maintain safety protocols to minimise risk and prevent accidents.
    • Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labour, materials, and equipment.
    • Handle any on site conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
    • Report any incidents, near misses or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

    OPERATIONS

    • Anticipate labour requirements and arrange accordingly.
    • Work in all weather and in dust, wet conditions, indoors, walking, climbing, holding, bending and lifting etc.

    ADMINISTRATION

    • Ensure that all documentation is completed and filed timeously.

    COMMUNICATION

    • Hold daily maintenance tool box talks and safety meetings with the maintenance personnel and set out daily priorities.

    LEADING

    • Supervise artisans, Contractors and learners within the company guidelines.

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of Grade 12
    • Civil Engineering construction experience

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 3 years working experience
    • Supervisory experience
    • Good understanding of plant and maintenance operations.

    OTHER SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Good understating of safety management (ISO45001, ISO14001.
    • Must have a good understanding of valuing diversity.
    • Must have an advanced understanding of conflict handling.

    Drains Chargehand (North West)

    Description
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Diesel Mechanic (North West)

    Description
    PURPOSE

    • An exciting opportunity exists to render an efficient service on maintaining of plant and equipment and adhering to safety aspects.

    Requirements

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Inspections and Reporting
    • Conduct all relevant inspections, diagnostic tests to determine the condition of the vehicles and prepare reports
    • Interpret diagnostic results and offer suitable solutions
    • Safety Aspects on Plant and Equipment
    • Ensure compliance with all maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs)
    • Ensure that electrical, kinetic and potential energy are neutralised before commencing tasks
    • Report on all accidents and incidents and safety deviations
    • Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
    • Prepare work plans after fully scoping out the problems
    • Order parts and maintain parts inventory
    • Perform planned and unplanned maintenance
    • Repair or replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, suspensions, transmissions and braking systems as per original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications
    • Repair or replace light fittings, wiring harnesses, batteries, alternators, starters, ignitions and proximity switches
    • Repair and maintain basic electrical systems on vehicles (12v, 24v, 48v)
    • Replace hydraulic equipment, pumps, valves and cylinders
    • Test drive vehicles to gauge performance
    • Conduct oil sampling, analyse and report
    • Conduct site visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
    • Ensure that tools and equipment are kept in a safe working condition

    General Responsibilities

    • Adhere to SHEQ-C Code of Conduct requirements, employment legislation as well as company policies and procedures as amended from time-to-time
    • Ensure good housekeeping of plant and equipment
    • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate
    • All training certificates and training module documentation be available from accredited training centre
    • Valid driver’s license

    EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum three years' experience on Trackless Mobile Machines (TMM) in a mining environment
    • Minimum five years' experience on yellow equipment
    • Basic electrical exposure

    Operational Supervisor (North West)

    Description
    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Business / Functional Management
    • Execute operational and technical duties in line with organisational directives, as provided.
    • Financial, Commercial and Contracts Management
    • Work with materials and equipment in a cost-effective way, as per standard operating procedures and practice notes as directed
    • Ensure full compliance to material usage requirements in executing duties

    Requirements
    QUALIFICATIONS

    • B Tech / Degree in Civil Engineering

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least one to two year’s tailings deposition experience working in a mining / tailings environment or construction environment
