• This contract opportunity requires a hands-on leader with a passion for embedding quality at every stage of the software development lifecycle, while mentoring teams and aligning quality strategy with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the test strategy, planning, and execution across agile teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure software solutions.
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to Quality Engineers (QEs), fostering a collaborative and high-performing quality culture.
• Partner with development, architecture, and product teams to integrate quality practices from the ground up.
• Drive the adoption of test automation, shift-left principles, and continuous improvement through quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
• Promote and implement test frameworks and tooling, including Playwright, REST Assured, and Jira/XRay.
• Manage stakeholder expectations through clear communication, status reporting, and proactive risk identification.

Key Requirements

• Extensive experience in quality engineering leadership, preferably within the financial services or fintech sector.
• Demonstrated success in implementing test automation, test strategies, and continuous integration in agile environments.
• Proficient in test automation tools and frameworks including Playwright, REST Assured, Jira, and XRay.
• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, quality gates, and shift-left testing practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead with influence in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

About the Role

• We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join our client in the finance industry, supporting their agile development teams in delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.
• This is a 6-month contract role offering the chance to work on impactful systems within a high-performance and delivery-focused environment.
• The successful candidate will lead testing initiatives using modern automation tools, particularly Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript, and contribute to continuous testing practices integrated with DevOps pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated tests across UI, API, and Integration layers.
• Create and execute robust test plans and frameworks aligned with agile delivery cycles.
• Actively participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and product owners to define acceptance criteria and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous feedback and rapid delivery.
• Monitor test execution and report quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and drive a culture of quality-first development.
• Promote test automation best practices and mentor other QA engineers when needed.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of proven experience in software test automation.
• Hands-on experience using Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar.
• Strong understanding of testing types: regression, integration, functional, and API.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket) and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-Have / Advantageous

• Exposure to security testing or performance testing.
• Experience in financial services, banking, or insurance domains.
• ISTQB, Agile Testing, or SAFe certifications.
