    Ward Administrator

    Main Focus Areas

    • The incumbent will be responsible for the co-ordination of all secretarial work in the wards and responsible for receiving all new patients, visitors, and doctor’s in the ward as well as to make them feel welcome. The incumbent will further be required to assist the ward staff and the Unit Manager

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Answers the telephone in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Ensure the hospitality aspects for our most valued patients are a priority.
    • Ensure all new admissions are on the patient's name board with the time and date.
    • Ensure the patient receives a ward information form.
    • Place the required stickers in the ward admission book
    • Ensure suitable arrangements are made with the ward that patient is being transferred to and from.
    • Discharges may only occur once the Doctor has given his consent in writing.
    • Assist with staff shift planning in the ward including Agency staff.
    • Complete and update “Monthly Register” for learners
    • Ensure all billing is up to date .
    • Assist Unit Manager with stock control processes.
    • Participate in quality programs in the ward.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification
    • 2-3 years’ experience in a secretarial position/Hospital experience

    Senior Pharmacist - Pharmacy

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Pharmacist will be responsible for the provision of medication and supplementary services to patients and members of the healthcare team. The incumbent will also assume responsibility for ensuring that patient needs are met in a responsible, satisfactory and cost-effective manner by member of the dispensary team. Maintaining high professional and ethical standards in accordance with the GPP – implement and enforce policies and procedures

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Oversee and participate in daily dispensing processes (hospital and retail) and daily processes in all surgical areas including Pharmacy theatre teams
    • Ensure maximum safety of patients by providing advice on the appropriate selection, dosage and drug interaction, potential side effects and therapeutic effects of medicines
    • Supervise and control the acquisition, storage, dispensing of medicine and related substances by all member of the dispensing team
    • Conduct related administrative, HR/IR and house-keeping tasks independently
    • Act as custodian for the management of Schedule 5 & 6 drugs as per legal requirements including Schedule drug audits (quarterly balancing) and reports
    • Liaise with nursing and doctors - Formal communication regarding operational changes, challenges, out of stocks and incidents.
    • Stock management by performing monthly cycle counts and quarterly stock take. Assist in managing dead stock within the pharmacy and hospital.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • A relevant pharmaceutical qualification (B.Pharm. Degree or Dip.Pharm) or equivalent NQF 7 qualification.
    • Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council
    • Work experience in a Private Hospital environment – Essential (minimum of 3 years)
    • Sound knowledge of Pharmacy business operations -Advantageous
    • SAP and UNISOLV experience – Advantageous
    • Able to work long hours and shifts

    SPH Case Manager (Fixed Term Contract)

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Case Manager utilizing clinical knowledge and expertise, mitigates financial risk through comprehensive and accurate coding of hospital events, communication with funders on justification for hospitalization level of care and length of stay.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Responsible for application of clinical knowledge in justifying patient hospitalisation in terms of treatment, length of stay and level of care.
    • Monitor and action risk related to medical aid benefits and hospitalisation.
    • Ensure accurate, specific and comprehensive clinical coding
    • Timeous, effective communication and follow up with medical aids.
    • Review authorisation aspects approved, mitigating financial risk and final releasing the cases for billing.
    • Liaise with a network of internal and external stakeholders regarding patient treatment.
    • Adhere to the Managed Health Care rules of engagement.
    • Compliance with all industry relevant legislative acts, regulations and circulars
    • Good communications and interpersonal skills

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

    • B Degree/Diploma Nursing qualification and/or Case Management qualification
    • Diverse clinical nursing experience
    • Case Management experience
    • ICD-10 / CPT Coding Qualification or Experience
    • SAP IS-H experience advantageous
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

    Clinical Facilitator

    Main Focus Areas

    • The Clinical Facilitator is responsible for the clinical facilitation of training and development, learning of the theoretical and clinical component in a clinical environment to reinforce the learning process as well as the integration of theory and practice.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

    • Active involvement in research and development activities to discover new knowledge about products, processes, and services, and then applying that knowledge to create new and improved products, processes, and services that meet the academic market needs
    • Plan, draw and coordinate training and development calendars
    • Facilitate the marking of case studies and assignments
    • Keep accurate employee clinical records
    • Plan, organize and ensure active involvement in the process of all academic related projects
    • Facilitate the clinical learning process by understanding, applying and maintaining adult learning methodologies

    • A relevant nursing qualification ( B Cur Degree/ or relevant education qualification)
    • Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse
    • Compliance with the SANC code for a Registered Nurse and all applicable health care legislations
    • Assessor and Moderator trained  BLS instructor  Clinical Expertise within your specialty
    •  Advanced Computer Literacy will be essential
