PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Servicing and Maintaining of equipment’s (Services equipment’s). Ensure that the Refrigeration, Boiler plant is running efficiently.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Equipment Availability

• Achieve Utilities availability of 99%
• Achieve overall equipment availability 97%(processing area ) shared KPI
• Initiate Root cause analysis( 5 Y principle)
• Execute all maintenance schedules

Safety

• Do BOS minimum 4 per month to reduce safety incident at the work place
• Do risk assessment for each job given to eliminate all potential safety related issues.
• All work done inside restricted area must be accompanied by the relevant safety form (confined space etc.)

Energy intensity

• Monitor equipment performance and hence reduce coal usage target of 1.4 mj/kg monthly
• Monitor equipment performance and hence reduce electricity usage targe of 2.5 mj/kg monthly

Quality

• Ensure that all quality standards are met ( Good manufacturing practice )
• Pass all AIB audit with zero findings

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric / Grade 12
• Refrigeration Diploma, Qualified Fitter
• Code B Ammonia Refrigeration  

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ammonia plant operations
• Boiler plant operations
• Effluent plant operations
• Cold-room ,Condensers, Evaporators, Compressors and Ammonia pumps Maintenance

SAP ( CMMS)

LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Code B ( Ammonia )
• Boiler Operator Certificate

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Able to operate an Ammonia refrigerated plant.
• Able to operate Coal steam Boiler
• Able to operate effluent plant
• Conduct Root cause analysis on the ammonia ,Boiler and effluent plant
• Able to repair Pumps, de-oiling of ammonia system , Repair pumps, servicing of ammonia condensers, Servicing of Ammonia compressors
• Do monthly Boiler inspection and checks
• Repair/Servicing of conveyor systems
• Repair and servicing of Cold-room doors
• Servicing of ammonia valve stations
• Service/ repair hydraulic system
• The candidate must be able to work with SAP – plant maintenance.
• Respond to Ammonia and Fire alarms as per McCain procedure.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Environmental Officer in support to the Environmental Manager is responsible for the coordination, administration and coaching to successfully manage the ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management system for 2 manufacturing sites, to ensure compliance to environmental legislative requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor environmental compliance to current policies, procedures, registers, legislation and regulation for Delmas and Springs Manufacturing Plants
• Coordinate and schedule environmental surveys based on environmental compliance requirement and evaluate outcomes and reporting deviations.
• Continuous monitoring of updates in legislation which might impact procedures, policies, permits and licensing. Communicate to Environmental Manager
• Monitor compliance status via plant inspections, legal registers, internal plant-based registers, validity of all permits and licensing as per legislation and regulatory ISO14001:2015 requirement.
• Report risks, loading of environmental incidents / non-conformances on intelex. Responsible for root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
• Conduct Environmental risk assessments and implement necessary control measures.
• Evaluate test results received from third party contractors in relation to our permit and licensing conditions and parameters. Reporting any deviations to Environmental Weekly monitoring of abstraction volumes to ensure we remain in allowed abstraction volumes as per water use license.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• National Diploma in Environmental Management or equivalent.
• Approximately 3 - 5 years relevant experience in a food production environment with experience in developing and continuous compliance to ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management systems.
• Minimum 2 years ISO 14001:2015 internal audit experience or exposure
• Valid driver’s licence
• Knowledge and understanding of ISO14001:2015 environmental legislation, standards, licensing and permits as well as environmental Management standard ISO 14001:2015
