    Advanced Copy Controller

    Job Description    

    • The Novus Print division has a proud legacy, which includes the highest level of manufacturing excellence, first mover in new technology and solutions-orientated offerings. The team is exceptionally strong and is seasoned in standardisation and optimisation of processes, able to adapt quickly to change and most importantly solid in its culture and values.
    •  Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a detailed conscious Advance Copy Controller to check and report on defects on all print material within the Quality Control department. The successful incumbent will report to the Quality Control Co-ordinator.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities    

    • To check and report defects spotted during initial start of production cycles of both printing and binding 
    • Pack the selected quantity of advanced copies in accordance to schedules, label and supply to Despatch or Customer services for distribution to clients 
    • Record daily data with reference to production totals, defects and deliveries 
    • Communicate findings with relevant department heads and quality assurance manager 

    Educational Requirements    

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification

    Experience Requirements    

    • 1-2 years experience within the same or similar role 
    • At least 2 years general experience in a large printing environment

    SHEQ Officer

    Job Description

    • Novus Print: Montague Gardens is seeking to appoint a SHEQ Officer with at least 3-5 years relevant working experience in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will report to the Senior SHEQ Officer.
    • Implement & Maintain ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 31001 standards and Company SHEQ Policies
    • Conduct Risk Assessments, Safety Audits & Inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and company procedures
    • Investigate incidents, Report Findings and Implement corrective and preventive measures.
    • Assist with developing and maintaining safe work procedures and standard operating procedures 
    • Responsible for Management of Permanent Contractors
    • Review and approve all subcontractors safety files and legal compliance 
    • Provide induction training to contractors, visitors, and employees.
    • Arrange toolbox talks and distribute communication.
    • Assist in compiling SHEQ reports.

    • Relevant SHEQ qualification such as SAMTRAC / NEBOSH (advantageous)

    Experience Requirements    

    • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role within the manufacturing environment
    • Solid knowledge of the following ISO standards:
    • ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety)
    • ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
    • ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
    • ISO 31001 (Risk Management)
    • ISO 22000 (Food Safety – advantageous)
    • Proven experience in incident investigations.
    • Good understanding of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.

    Skills and Competencies    

    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office packages
    • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Proactive approach to risk management and problem solving
    • Ability to deliver training and awareness sessions confidently with diverse teams
    • Ability to influence a positive health, safety and environmental culture
    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Report writing skills
